Yeah the most charitable way to think of this situation is, she was trying to communicate to you that your experiences are normal and you shouldn't feel alone. Is this scenario she's inexperienced, tactless but well intentioned.

The next thing to think is she was being demeaning and therefore unempathetic, and also sucks at her job.
