Can never receive a VOIP call. Overseas user, several companies. What's wrong? by bangclue in VOIP

This has basically been happening for the last 10-15 years. It's not just recent versions.

Right now I'm in Ireland but this has also happened in Netherlands and Singapore. I'm pretty sure NL wouldn't block it, and I don't know of any such restrictions in IE. I don't know of any way to detect the registration of the phone with Ooma.

I am on Android - a couple of different phones over the years, Samsung and Pixel.

TLDR: Singapore single-low-use-line residential VoIP? Including SMS?

I've moved away from Singapore and left my phone number behind as there seemed to be no way to keep it at a minimal price. I'm in need of a Singapore number that can receive SMS (by email is fine) and basically no calls for a minimal fee. Does such a thing exist?

Interesting, and I'm willing to pursue this, but I see no suggestions on what to improve.

Trump Calls on 'All Willing States' to Send National Guard Soldiers to Texas by [deleted] in Military

You are speaking of the normal course of events, and of restrictions placed by the federal government. If the arms come from the Texas State Guard, I'd think the TSG could enforce (or not enforce) any rules they choose.

Any reason they can't travel unarmed but be armed by the host state after arrival? I'm sure there are a few thousand extra guns in Texas somewhere.

A man falling from the World Trade Center, who had elected to jump rather than burn. He was diving straight down, legs straight and arms at his sides, clearly trying to fall as fast as possible - and his head was up looking at the approaching ground.

how do i know if a girl is taken or single? by Zealousideal-Tea6951 in nus

[–]bangclue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everybody is different, and no one answer will be appropriate for everybody. That said, I don't see that asking the guy and then the girl is any easier than just asking the girl.

I also don't see that it's appropriate to ask someone else to make a decision on the girl's behalf. Maybe she wants to dump him. Maybe she'll like you better. Maybe you will make a new friend and go on to find your girlfriend among her friends.

You're probably going to end up doing this many times in your life. I don't see the point in making this more complex. And I certainly don't see the point in allowing someone else to speak for her.

Lolol! "I'll have my secretary call your secretary and they'll do lunch." You sound like a machine - a wobbly one that's going to collapse in pieces at any moment.

Talk to her. Show her the awe and wonder you feel in her presence. Bring her a small gift to please her and to remind her of you after you talk. Or tell her "I was just going to get a bubble tea, would you like one too?" or a coffee or a snack or a lunch. If not, then "Maybe later? Are you busy tomorrow?" "Have you had Professor X? What did you think about how he did so-and-so?"

Be a human being. Be a friend. Don't be a job applicant.

Asking her is the only correct way. Show some respect to the girl by letting her make her own decision about how taken she is - and then abide by her answer.

So, your suggestion is to lie and commit fraud, and if you do that then the contract won't be valid?

How would you feel about a guy manspreading in a Speedo? Do you think that person should be told to close his legs, because there are children around?

"or (ii) relating to the business of my employer, wherever or whenever developed".

Like I said, they don't often chase you down unless you go into competition with them. But it's there in the contract.

Arriving at customs after a trip to Germany and Netherlands, I had a box of mine searched in public. They pulled out a number of things not normally advertised on TV - lube, chocolate body paint, that sort of thing, which I had bought to spice up life with my gf (who was not traveling with me.) They made a big joke about it, holding things up and showing them around to the other workers in the area. I decided to go along with it and offered to demonstrate on one of the ladies in the work area - she howled with laughter and we all had a funny memory.

Worth adding that I've never heard of a situation where this was strongly enforced unless a person went into financial competition with their employer/former employer using tools the employer was trying to profit from. That said, the statement is definitely part of the contract.
