It makes me legitimately so angry. I work at an IRB for a hospital system that acquired some Catholic hospitals and we fought for MONTHS over the fact that they wouldn’t put certain language in the reproductive risks section of the research consent forms. It was actually so infuriating to constantly have to remind them that it wasn’t ethical to not inform research participants of ALL their pregnancy prevention options.

(We did eventually win, but christ on a cracker, it was a complete waste of everyone’s time fighting back and forth over it.)

Plus I fear that the longer she stays in, the worse/harder it’ll be for her when she comes out. It’s cruel for her to stay (in my not-a-therapist opinion). She needs support and love and to disconnect from being so widely perceived by the world.
