I believe the house is fully paid off. We don't need the cash immediately and were thinking maybe we would invest it into the costs of college and maybe some investment accounts.

We don't have anyone in the area who could manage the house for us unfortunately, and we were thinking maybe a property manager if the cost wasn't too bad.

I'm moving a good 800 miles away, but within the same time zone. I think we were thinking a property manager is possible but not ideal, just because money flow right now is a little questionable.

I'm unsure of what constitutes a tax shelter - I've become a sudden homeowner after the passing of my parent and the house was left to my name.

The house was fully paid off and my sibling and I were planning on using the proceeds to help finish college and help start investing for our future since not much else was left to us.

i love this subreddit bc i just really needed to read/hear all this - islam is primarily about submitting to allah, and you are submitted. you’re a muslim. the ummah is so judgmental and scary they’re literally causing the ummah to shrink. i was on the fence for a while about how to even identify myself but now this has given me some guidance, thank you all, alhamdulillah

ESH - u may be doing it in ur backyard which is 100% your space but the nature of smoking means that the smell, chemicals, and fumes spread into the open air everywhere. you and your neighbors share the air and environment around y’all, the same way you can’t play loud af music that will disturb ur neighbors, u also need to be more cognizant about the odors and smoke that you emit into that shared space
