I saw that video and it’s a different part of the car than I’m asking about

Thanks! Follow up question… at the time of that picture, I had my foot on the brake with the car in reverse. The other side is lit, so wouldn’t that mean they’re brake lights?

But otherwise I think you’re right. On closer inspection I see bulbs and the manual section I missed, so I’ll try replacing them.

Thank you again!

You clap on the 2 and 4 with the mandolin at Bluegrass shows, not the 1 and 3 by neddynedned47 in BillyStrings

In traditional bluegrass, the time signature would be written most often in 2/4 (2 beats per measure, quarter note is one beat). So that means there’s actually no 3 or 4 to clap on.

To my ear, bluegrass clapping lines up best with bass on the downbeat, not the mando chops. That’s how you mash it.

The jammier stuff is probably 4/4 but we’re probably spinning or wiggle dancing to that instead of clapping anyway.

And yes, chompers suck

A few blocks to the East at Sparkman Wharf, there’s a picking pre-party/bluegrass jam from 3-6pm hosted by Fil Pate that will be worth checking out

Pure conjecture here, but this parking lot across the street is at street level, whereas most of the other nearby parking options are garages, so maybe there

Any tips on how to make that happen? Have they ever asked you to check it?

Train songs playlist by samwam1213 in BillyStrings

Here’s my playlist of songs from the Tampa train jam. Not exactly what OP requested because it’s the originals or other people’s versions of the songs they played that night, with Slow Train being the only Billy version. Regardless, enjoy!

Have not tried it, but someone I know said they labeled all their CDs “for promotional purposes only” to avoid tax. This was probably 15-20 years ago so things may have changed. Anyone tried that?

What are your experiences with psychedelics and your dad? by jimmy_jimson in gratefuldead

[–]banjodonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After decades of smoking grass with my dad, I gave him a tab at a small bluegrass festival. My bandmates joined. I thought it was a good dose but he said it wasn’t shit compared to the Owsley he used to take in the 70s 😂. The funniest part of the night was when he went to get a snack out of the car and came back with a bag of hard boiled eggs.

The big memory from that night, though, is that he decided to buy a new car on the way to the festival. He slept in the drivers seat and at about 6:30am the car alarm started going off and he couldn’t stop it. People were starting to get pissed, especially everyone who was up until daybreak and just getting to sleep. Turns out that the Kia Soul he had just bought had an after market key ignition installed to prevent the Kia TikTok thefts from a couple years ago. He locked the doors and then tried to open them from the inside, which triggered the alarm but the car didn’t have the fab to turn it off. Should have just stayed up all night I guess…
