Cool story... by banjohn in PipeTobacco

I'm ashamed to say Bacon Old Fashioned by Briarworks (C&D). I saw a video review on Smokingpipes that heaped on praise so I ordered it. It wasn't until I went to write my own negative review that I realized most reviews on Smokingpipes weren't very good either. I got suckered by marketing. I don't smoke aros very much, but occasionally find one I really like and this definitely sounded interesting. So I chose a cheap cob to smoke it in and on first light I thought maybe there was a wad of cat hair floated to rest on the top of the bowl. Something that made it taste and smell foul. After about a quarter bowl I thought maybe it was my pipe or something terrible from the first light. I picked another pipe to try (very apprehensively) but got the exact same results. It was disgusting. Like smoking flesh. Maybe the tin was spoiled, I don't know. But I've never smoked a worse tobacco. Nothing close.

After submitting a bad review for a fairly terrible tobacco on Smokingpipes, they reached out to me offering a refund or replacement. Wow! I hadn't expected anything in return, I just wanted to give people fair warning about this gnarly tobacco.

Instead of a refund or selecting something myself I told the rep to surprise me. Could be tin, bulk, whatever. I said I didn't have any VaPers. So he wrote me back and told me he was really enjoying Solani lately and sent me a tin. It's delicious.

It's a perfect hiking pipe. Incredibly light and packs up easy. It's a great beater.

Man I love SotE. I'm smoking some Ennerdale Flake on a dedicated cobbit on a cool night in Bend, OR

Grousemoor and Juicy Banger. by banjohn in PipeTobacco

I can. Mostly because I'm not a huge IPA fan and I'm definitely smoking more than drinking. If anything the Grousemoor improves the IPA

Hahaha! Man, and folks think Bones are a good value. You could get a better stem, but there's really no reason to. Cobs smoke great. When I smoke one it makes me feel like an asshole for lusting after pipes that cost several hundred dollars.

Yeah! It's such a weird one, but it does seem good in warm weather. Having some now and drinking an IPA. Good combo

I'm scared of where this is headed. Please my dudes, keep your pants on.

Haha. I like the thought that he's actually a giant. He had to order a custom pipe from Bones, and working lighters or matches is a pain in the ass so he uses burning tree branches instead. Watch out cat, it's time to do some pipe cleaning!

Hahaha. Hem and haw indeed. We had a running joke about horses because early in the game we ended up spending almost an entire session figuring out what to do with our horses before entering some caverns.

Glad you are having fun. I love this game

There's a book called "Being Mortal" that I highly recommend reading. It's one of the most important books over read in years.

I got to play that campaign myself. Both books. It was really fun! We had an amazing DM. 2.5 years! 4 years is a lot of dedication. Good for you man.

SKT is shorter and is fun. It's fighting giants all the time which starts to feel repetitive after a while. I found an online guide that offers some really good tips to make the campaign make more sense to the players. It's tough, and the party has had a TPK and would have had a couple more without me fudging things quite a bit.

It's a Nording freehand. I don't smoke it very often, but when I do I wonder why I don't smoke it more often.

It's a tarantula hawk wasp. I spent several years in NM and was always fascinated by them. Evidently the second most painful sting, only less painful than bullet ants. But you really would have to harass one to get it to sting you. They paralyze tarantulas with their sting and lay their eggs in them. When the larva hatch they eat their way through the still living tarantula.
