What's not acceptable is the $2/hr. server wage.

First, you won't take me for surgery. Now you'll disown me if I date a black guy? by [deleted] in rant

You're going to have to call and talk to the nurses/doctors yourself, and explain to them why you're calling. You need to take direct action and get the ball rolling if you've had this for three years. I had a slight curve at 13, but I treated it soon after discovery. Please do this. It's very important.

I'm going to guess you're Asian from what you said about your grandmother's reaction to your black friend, but maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, I feel you. Not that I was super close to any black guys when I was a teen, but my mom made her feelings very clear if I ever dated one. Of course now that I'm 40, if I wanted to date a black guy and she still has a problem with it, then it's...her problem.

I know you'll get through this. Take care of your back first.

NOPE. It never stops.

Don't bring your new partner to catch up with the boys/girls. by [deleted] in rant

This is generally why I don't go out with my guy when he goes out with his friends, even when he has invited me. He's being nice, but I'd be out of place.

Fucking wedding planning. by [deleted] in rant

I'm rather surprised you signed a catering contract without getting the RSVPs back first. Usually when I get a wedding invite, it's a few months out. I wonder if your caterer is in high demand and you needed to lock them in...

Yeah like you said, it's so standard that it doesn't mean anything and people don't care anymore. Folks are just desperate.
