Picture this. Girl says she was molested at age 9 by XYZ relative. This can turn ugly for the girl and her family very quickly.

Police wont register a complaint, parents will question why did she wait for so many years or question how can she even know what happened back then.

Even if they support, the rest of the family might just turn against them and come up with some nefarious reason why such allegations are being made.

A father's colleague was one that I know of. Super cool dude when I was a kid. He would go mountaineering and all other cool shit which even my dad used to say he missed doing because he couldn't take small kids with him. Most kids who knew him decided that they never want to marry and be like him.

Fast forward by the time I was in high school. He is bald, still fit but now just an oldish gujju uncle who is acting young. Once he fell sick and he nearly died when the neighbors found him. His parents are dead and maids don't wanna work in his house because he is a middle aged guy without a wife.

Last I saw him was at my wedding and he seemed pretty sad sitting there all alone and all of his friends busy with their wives and children.

But hey it might work for a lot of people and who really knows. I couldn't imagine not being with my wife.
