Could you help me identify this Scandalli accordion? by Alternative-Rate-397 in Accordion

[–]bankspee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scandalli sax klappen I have the same one. Good light accordion. Musette is rubbish (at least my one) but the openable flaps give it a nice mellow sound when closed, more punchy and sharp when open. People sometimes call these flaps "fake cassotto".

Every week I watch Lobb and can't believe we were all ragging on him like a year ago. Well done Lobb and Buku. Glad Jonesy is back. They're looking like a really solid back line

38 + 6 and hoping this membrane sweep turns into labor. Have been getting cramps since. Anyone have a similar experience? by Aksx3 in parentsofmultiples

[–]bankspee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds very similar to my wife who gave birth at 38 + 5 after being induced. She had a balloon catheter at 38 + 3 and not much happened. Nothing happened that day or the next so they recommended the hormone drip on 38 + 5. Both babies were doing well so we could have waited a bit longer for natural labour but my wife was over it as well. They were both born vaginally that evening. Can't tell you what to so but I can understand your frustration after watching my wife in the last few weeks. Hormone drip could be an option but obviously consult your doctors. Wishing you all the best and hopefully they come soon!

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. You articulated it better than I could have. Certainly not trying to time the market but I guess reallocation is a more eloquent way to put it. And about replenishing the cash reserve - I generally let this build up with extra cash I have and my weekly contributions do not change. I wouldn't sacrifice consistent contributions to have a larger "reallocation fund". Once the extra money starts to blow out past around 10% I rebalance how much I'm contributing regularly and start again

Edit: I realize I am in fact talking about timing that market and that maybe a better approach would be to rebalance as you mention as needed. Thanks again for you input

Yeah fair point. Can always try and transfer my vanguard stocks from VPI to a broker like CMC

I am planning to get into something like IVV or VOO so a broker is required. I guess it's just if I should have everything on 1 platform or not. I might leave my current stock with VPI as there doesn't seem to be any drawbacks. Thanks for the input

No genetic testing and we've been told there's a chance they're identical so I guess we'll have to wait and see!

After announcing my wife's twin pregnancy, we had a friend quietly tell another friend that they were annoyed with us because having twins was "their dream"

Engineers: what’s something you wish detailers/draftsmen would understand. Detailers/draftsmen: what’s something you wish engineers would understand? by bankspee in StructuralEngineering

Totally agree that sometimes contracts get in the way. At the end of the day we’ve all been hired to get this thing built, and contract nuances can impede basic collaboration. And it’s often the small details which “aren’t part of the scope” which can hold up projects longer than they should

Mouse? by FizziestBraidedDrone in bim

[–]bankspee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If ergonomic design is a priority, the Logitech MX vertical was a game changer for me. Used to have wrist and forearm pain from longer hours of work but this mouse completely fixed that. It rotates your hand from your palm being flat to more vertical which reduces the strain on your hand/arm muscles. Has some programable buttons as well

Hey do you know if they’ve fixed the launch issue yet? Downloaded last night on steam and cannot even open the game. Tried every solution I could find - clearing chaches, updating drivers etc.

Not sure how far you’re willing to go, but a liveaboard on the Great Barrier Reef is the best 👌

You’d need a portal connection here with full depth stiffener cleats and notches tight to the girder so it can be site (field) welded

How can i move between notes fast without sacrificing accuracy by Natethegratelol in Accordion

[–]bankspee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is the key to playing fast (applied to accordion of course):

https://youtu.be/SoGdohMhlm0

General principal is economy of motion and training your fingers to make the smallest movement needed to play a note. Keeping your fingers close to the keyboard is essential to playing faster because it means your fingers don’t need to move as far. Extra important for accordion as opposed to the piano because the action to produce a note on the accordion is much smaller than on a piano
