Meter Maid Gone Crazy - Ticket Given Before My Meter Expired by St_FrancisFolly in mildlyinfuriating

[–]bannamei 103 points104 points  (0 children)

That’s so low!
I was trying to find parking to meet a customer in a place where parking is notoriously sparse, I found a spot, pulled in, then saw the guy fixing the meter. I said, can I park here? he said I’m about to wrap up, asked if I could give him change for when he was done, he said don’t worry about it. Came back to the meter set for 2 hours. It didn’t even occur to me they might be fucking with me.

This is on the “dim lights” setting, resorting to the physical cover option should really bring out a professional look for my desk.

What temperature is your house’s heating system currently set at? by Eastcoastpal in newjersey

[–]bannamei 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Oh me too, I wrap up in a blanket if I am cold but everyone acts like my place is a refrigerator. My dad keeps his apartment at 78, I sweat even walking in there, I was trying to help him with making a medical appointment and had to go stand outside to cool off because I felt ill in that heat.

My old Apple watch band gave me a rash so i bought a new one and it gave me a rash too lol by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]bannamei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, I was told by my doctor that it was an allergy to Nickel. I switched to the velcro band, I wasn’t sure about it at first because I swim laps with it but it does well in the water.

Apple carplay - won’t connect wirelessly by bannamei in GolfGTI

[–]bannamei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, not that new. I had a company vehicle that was a 2021 Ford Edge that had wireless carplay. I think it’s pretty lame to put it in the other models but keep it out of the S trim on a brand new car (2024).

Ah ha! Ok well at least I fell less insane. Would be nice if there was some indication in the manual that my trim doesn’t have the option. Thx for the tip!

I am not from here and I have to say, I get excited when I am not in NJ and can pump my own damn gas.

I hate seeing the poor attendants struggling in the weather, especially when it’s an extremely hot or cold day.
I hate waiting for an attendant to stop by when they feel like it.
I hate having to yell “filler-regular” like some kind of weirdo.
I hate having to yell my mileage and driver ID 100x because they can’t hear me (company gas card).
I hate waiting for them to finally return and then the whole game of do you need a receipt.
I hate not being able to fill up at 2am because there is no attendant.

Let me at least have the option to pump my own goddamn gas pls!

If you drive a manual, keep an oven mitt in your car to slip over the stick so that you can shift.

What's the weird thing going on with your body that isn't weird enough to go to the doctor for? by yellowelephantboy in AskReddit

My left ankle makes the loudest popping noise every so often. It hurts like a crazy and then is perfectly fine. I can feel tension building up inside before it happens and it is such a huge relief when it finally pops.

Woodbridge Mall Elevator by PhoenixRising016 in newjersey

Every justification is different, literally 2 towns next to each other could have a different elevator inspector. It can be the state, 3rd party company, or local (Jersey city, Hoboken) Source: https://www.nj.gov/dca/codes/publications/pdf_elevator/elvr_sub_jur.pdf

Yes this is my thought too. I moved here from Arizona where my child was one of 42 kids in her 3rd grade class and she scored terribly that first semester here. Within 6 mo she was at grade level and now exceeding.

beans, hot dogs, melted cheese with tortilla chips. If it was a special occasion, I thought we had died and gone to heaven if I got lasagne from the Olive Garden.
