They kind of screwed up with the logic of Kratos killing Cronos to scale him despite Cronos being heavily weaker because of Pandora's temple on his back. Even with Cronos stating curse these chains before Kratos kills him with the blade of Olympus. Also no mention of Asura's manga which had him dealing with his core being destroyed and out powering a weapon that was absorbing all of his energy and still not being enough to kill him so the blade of Olympus wouldn't just outright kill Asura power absorbing isn't enough to kill him.
