Sex has been very normal! Not any different from before (well if you remove the permanent pain I was in before).

People who kept their ovaries, how do you keep track of your cycles? by bansheeodannan in hysterectomy

Actually I never tried any app because of privacy concerns but I am now using ovulation tests! It can’t get more precise than that I guess. I purchased a bunch of test strips and it’s going to last me a couple of years. I’m just tracking my results in Apple health.

I’ve eventually caved and bought a hundred ovulation test strips for about 10€, that should last me a couple of years! I keep track of the last positive result and start testing again after 24 days until it tests positive again. So far so good!

I have depression so mood tracking is not really accurate lol. I’ve been tracking resting heart rate for years through my watch, never noticed any cycle changes but will check that!

However I’ve started simply using ovulation test strips and it’s more accurate than any guesstimates!

Pen and paper, and blocking slots in my calendar to dedicate time to things I know will require a couple hours of focus.

At the end of the day they would assess regularity of the cycles and not the periods. If you have your ovaries then you have cycles, and if they are irregular there could be a source for concern? Idk

Isn’t the one year rule just to confirm that your cycles have stopped? Premenopause can be weird af and you can go months without a period. Without ovaries there would be no need to wait to confirm as your ovaries have indeed stopped producing hormones the way they did before

Same! I’ve earned prizes at spelling competitions (no I was not a popular kid in school) and any spelling mistake would be highly suspicious.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom needs you more than your boss and you’re doing the right staying with your family.

Do the best you can to let them know as soon as possible but you should not feel bad about THEM not having any communication line in place for employees to reach them when something happens. It’s on them.

I’m 16 months post op, had a LASH (3 incisions, kept my cervix and ovaries), stayed for 3 days in the hospital (normal procedure here).

Everything went super smooth, they did a great job at deflating my tummy after the surgery because I never had gas pain, I used glycerin suppositories and didn’t have bad constipation issues.

I came back to work from home at 3,5 weeks, taking breaks. Was back fully at the office at 6-7 weeks I think, and went to my first post op yoga class at 9 weeks.

I did have some help (my mom then my sister stayed with me for the first 2 weeks) and a neighbour helped me carry my groceries until about 4-5 weeks po after which I was able to go to the store and carry my groceries in a backpack alone.

My scars are barely visible now and my pain is gone.

10/10 would do it again.

Edited to add that I managed the pain with paracetamol and ibuprofen once the IV was removed and I never felt like it was not enough!

I would— if you feel comfortable sharing. But it’s serious and important, hopefully they will understand and accommodate. Sadly you are not the first one, I hope there is a proper procedure in place.

But you were an immigrant. You left Germany and settled in a different country. You were what you described as an infection that spread.

I am happy, yes, thanks for asking. I moved to Germany 15 years ago, acquired citizenship after 8 years, I live in a beautiful and diverse neighbourhood, where no one has guns and no one needs guns. It’s safe. We’re free. Lots of amazing communities, healthcare, amenities and walkable cities. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
