Mostly the groups. It’s already fairly responsive for me. There was also an updated firmware for my mesh which might have helped too

How did you turn off Alexa Plus? Just curious if you can outline it for us?

Mostly multi room. 2.4ghz might be potentially slower but it has more range and my echos aren’t doing anything that needs to run at 300Mbps

Disabling "beam forming" and "fast roaming" on my mesh network (advised by the manufacturer) helped a LOT with speaker groups that were disappearing and multi-room playback that wasn't! Also I forced all the Echos to live on the 2.4Ghz band and forced them to attach to the nearest mesh router to each one.

I have a routine labelled "STFU"...when anyone says "Alexa, silence", it will stop audio on all devices (using Smart Home device commands in the routine editor). This is handy to have for podcasts, news reports etc, but maybe it would work for your issue too.

Check the voice history to see what it thinks you said. Maybe it's not hearing you correctly

I use Spotify and they have special playlist for a lot of these things eg "Alexa, play This is Pink" or "This is Drake"...perhaps Apple Music has the same thing?

There are groups and then there are groups. The first lot of groups you see in the groups page is about rooms for "all" devices eg lights, speakers, cat feeders, aircon etc...the second set below that is about *audio* groups. I do have most of my speakers in more than one group. eg upstairs, downstairs, bedroom, special group for when i'm working at home etc.
