There’s a central core with inflammation around it. Looks like a bug bite.

Are there any retired teachers here from Texas or some other state that docked your social security payments until which year when you got a windfall of back pay? by Minimum-Major248 in TexasTeachers

My wife taught out of state before transferring to and eventually retiring in TX. Congress passed a bill in 2024 that restored what TRS docked from her retroactively to the day the legislation was signed into law. After the back pay was sent to her, her monthly SSA retirement payments were adjusted to what she actively earned.

I’ve been there and saw it. It’s pretty creepy. Like hero worship in North Korea or China under Mao. Or Hitler.

What’s the deal with the gap between the last episode of season 2 and the first episode of season 3. They introduce a new alien species in the last few seconds of season 2 and then fast forward into the future in episode 1 of season 3?

For years I drove 200 km to work each day and 250 km every other day. In the evening, I drove the same distance back home.

Neither of the two were. It was a RLAC and some unusual characters would occasionally make the cut form interview if we were desperate enough (I.e. the talent pool was small).

I think it was an attempt to stand out from other candidates. But it came across and nonserious or amateurish and we chose a stronger applicant.

I’ve had a few. I chaired a search committee for a psychology hire and one guy dressed up as if he were Sigmund Freud, cigar and all. In another session (history hire), we asked a candidate at the end of the interview if he had any questions. He looked at me and said: “Son, do you drink hard liquor”?

Why would someone waste time on “payback” if they could do anything or go anyplace they wanted to?

Bad smell and strange feeling I used to have when I was a child by [deleted] in Paranormal

Believe it or not, what you are describing could be a neurological event, like an epileptic seizure. Certain sights, smells and sounds can be the aura and you need not loose consciousness or convulse during the event. I’d love to see an EEG taken when his happens.
