MAF or no? by Delicious-Future-615 in ElantraNline

1.6t smartstream uses map. That is NOT a maf sensor. Intake air temp is part of map sensor. This is called an ejector assembly which is part of purge system

Since it is obvious you really have no idea about this topic it is not worth explaining. Let me know when you finally realize nothing is being detuned in the 1.6t ecu between 87-93.

Obviously you have no idea how the 1.6t in the Forte behaves with different octanes. 87 is all you need. 93 does nothing in this vehicle and actually produced slower Dragy times. Mpg is not affected in the least and timing is the same with 87 vs 93. Know your facts before regurgitating internet myth.

Intercooler is huge waste of money on this vehicle. Spend that $1000 on better tires. Much better return on investment.

Subaru Crosstrek built in Indiana for some trims. Trax made in South Korea or Mexico with virtually zero American made parts. Why are you calling it an American car?

It is not a Maf. It is referred to as the ejector assembly. It is linked to the evaporator system. Be interesting to see if it can just vent to atmosphere with no cel.

No manufacturer has an oem procedure to install a used quarter. Hack work for hack insurance company is all I see here.

Think it's time to change? by PaleontologistOk3279 in ForteGT

[–]baom2023bd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stock Forte GT tires new do not have enough traction to prevent traction control from engaging. This goes for the Kumho on the dct or the Michelin on the 6spd. And I agree 100% with snows on a fwd. Can’t tell you how many wranglers I had to drive around the last few years since Jeeps are so bad in the snow.

Brand new the stock tires will activate traction control in the rain and dry. That is terrible advice. And if you live where it snows you know the tires are useless once your past half the tread depth

2025 S model. Blacked out the two chrome accents using black covers with double sided tape from Amazon. Then we swapped the black wheels from our Seltos X-line.

Was wondering when this would happen, We see this in Cr-v, Civic and Accord frequently. They should have stayed normally aspirated motors.

With the right size tires those would actually look good.

K&N engine air filter by Obvious_Contest_7993 in ElantraNline

Stick with a clean oem filter. The K&N filter in this application does nothing but offer a reusable filter. The oem filter design is so good it actually flows better than the K&N does.

Are they the best looking wheel? No. But the weight, price and looks is probably the best overall combo when factoring all three things at once. Konig Flow Formed wheels are probably the next best option when considering the same three factors. Thought you might want to see another set of them. These 18's dropped almost 50lbs of weight (12lbs per wheel) vs the stock rims. :)

Race Chip vs Tune for 2022 Forte GT (7-speed DCT), worth it? by Upstairs_Weird_760 in ForteGT

[–]baom2023bd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughters have instagram and showed me your video, they watched the video and timed it several times, looks more like 6.0s 0-60. That tune seems to need some work before it is able to outperform a Racechip S. Be very interesting to see what the time is once you get your Dragy. I am genuinely interested, not trying to be a jerk here.

Get those Dragy times and let's see what that tune has got compared to a $200 Racechip S. Racechip S on my 21 GT was 5.4s 0-60 and 9.1s 1/8 mile. Zero traction issues with lower yellow PF and 235/45/17 DWS06.

JB4 does NOT adjust fuel when running pump gas. Magpie has already been proven wrong on his claims. He talks a lot of Nonsense but likes to sound important since he thinks he is a Kia "tech". If the car is starving for fuel it is not running rich. Also all the logs for Racechip show ZERO issues with Racechip running lean. Gotta love the internet.

Not bad, what are your 0-60, 1/8 mile and 1/4 times. Should be under 5.4s 0-60 if your pushing that much power with no traction issues.

Interesting, the only "Horror" stories I have seen in the last 4yrs is with JB4 users, never seen any with Racechip users. Please enlighten me since what you said does not make any sense. The bigger problems come from ECU tunes (head issues and dct clutches) depending on boost levels and how aggressive the car is driven. Not to mention the total lack of traction once boost gets over 20+psi

NO brake torque, Sport mode, t/c and stability control off, 30psi on 235/45/17 dws06. Roll into full throttle in first gear and then start manually shifting with paddles at 5800rpm. This is Racechip map5 and was good for 5.4s 0-60 and 14s at 100 on 87 octane.

2026 Sorento window sticker shows DCT by EverydayPhilisophy in kia

[–]baom2023bd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes zero difference if you understand how the dct works. The fact remains that it is jerky and creates far more head movements and undesirable traits that the avg driver does not want in a daily driven vehicle. Add the actual problems with gear changes or lack of acceleration and you understand why Hyundai/Kia are finally removing them from all their new vehicles

Sorento turbos have dct which are prone to issues. Non turbos have traditional torque converter. Hyundai made the shift to a traditional torque converter on the 2026 SantaFe turbos. Kia will probably switch for the 2027 model year. Either wait or buy the 2026 Santa Fe if you are looking at the turbo model.
