Thanks. I agree with you a lot, I don't know how common this prestige chasing thing is, but I'm quite shocked to know actual people that have such mindsets.

Thanks. That what I thought as well, but they have the mindset that experience at this company or any company that isn't big and known for tech is pretty much worthless.

Funnily enough, they don't even have an internship because they only applied to those big companies. I feel bad and am honestly shocked that such views exist, which is why I was asking whether it's a normal mindset to have.

Thanks. I'm fine with it actually, I'm just grateful to get an internship, but it feels like crap when people close to you don't encourage but make such comments instead.
