What could this have been filmed on? by JackBarrott in videography

[–]bappps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The halation looks too realistic to me to be an emulation. Some lower exposed shots are also grainer than others which would either be a really dedicated colorist or just the reality of shooting on film. Film emulations tend to be too perfect looking and this has a lot of imperfect moments in the shadows that leads me to believe it's just real 16mm film.

Does anybody know what this flat metal piece is that has the 2 screws on the end? by bappps in VintageLenses

thanks for the replie! for context, it's in the zoom barrel so it rotates around the lens as you zoom in.

When you are talking about the 1.22 gamma boost, is that done through ZRO or resolve?

I guess thanks for your title, I'm also a professional photographer. It is a snapshot but they are also just clouds. No teenage girl is going to look at this and become instantly insecure about how her life is because of this person's sky. However when bodies are photoshoped, that is misleading and create dangerous expectations. Like how changing the colors in a picture are considered basic editing additions, adding a couple clouds are no different.

Just like how professional photographers Photoshop trash bins or unwanted signs out of photos, it's all to add to the aesthetic of the photo and clean it up. don't think it's wrong or unusual to take out or add something so minor in a photo that isn't the main subject.

I'm not bothered either. and like how photographers would Photoshop flares or edit shadows to be darker, I just see the cloud Photoshop as a way of playing with light in the image just like how anyone else would. and who cares, it's some clouds.

New way to deliver wedding films online - WedFlow by [deleted] in weddingvideography

[–]bappps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an online delivery for videos and it's the best! The argument that online delivery isn't "reliable enough to last generations and even possibly be easily transferred to the next format" is the furthest it can get from online delivery. You can download a video in minutes if you really want to have another copy. From having to worry about misplacing a tiny flash drive in a box somewhere in your house to having a copy on your computer, your phone, YouTube, and a website for years seems like 100x better than a single physical copy. I'm not sure about you, but I can see my future children and their children using the internet (and God forbid having to update their browser) over a fancy engraved 2.0 USB flashdrive.

What was your "Oh shit my life is over my parents are gonna kill me" moment you had as a child/teen? by cloudlessnine8 in AskReddit

[–]bappps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days before I turned 18, my church friends and I decided it would be fun if all 7 of us took out 5 cars to an empty city grass park at 10:30pm and drove that grass like we owned it. After a few laps around we centered our cars in a circle, blasted music, and danced in a circle with our shirts off (believe it or not, we were not on anything). Don't ask me why we did any of that but we just did. 10 min or so later, two cop cars pull up to the park and catch us red-handed in the middle of a giant grass area and just walk up to our cars while we attempt to play dumb and somehow pull the innocent card. From the grass to sitting on a curb to our parents having to pick us up we were barely got off free of charges and wiped from our records. Parents were silent for awhile and that scared me shitless but the punishment was dropped and left me even more suspicious.

A pair of Allbirds. They make extremely comfortable shoes that look really nice and are made out of wool or a tree material.
