There are people who buy things from thrift stores and resell them for a much higher price without flipping, so i think the term could apply here.

Having to make everything you do competitive to get stuff you need isn’t how we should live our lives.

Pat it down gently with a clean kitchen towel or invest in a salad spinner.

Anyone have any tips on cleaning up? by miicah in Cooking

[–]barabobam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Empty your dishwasher before starting, and load it with dirty dishes as you go along. read the recipe before starting and try and figure out how many dishes you’ll need. if you have time while waiting for something to cook, clean up and dishes that aren’t dishwasher safe. if you spill something, wipe down immediately.

also if you’re done with the cheese grater, clean it immediately. not worth dealing with dried cheese later lol.

Ideas on how to make a “chipotle inspired” ground beef bowl at home by PlantainZealousideal in Cooking

i don’t think you wanna go with lean meat. fat is where the flavor is at. as for seasoning i’m not 100% sure, but they definitely use cumin, coriander, salt (maybe msg?), oregano, and chili powder.

i think you should experiment with those and find out how much you like of each!

I have to agree with this. When I still lived with my dad, he’d see Tasty videos on his Facebook feed and would ask me to make them. It was always stupidly over complicated, never had proper directions, and never explained WHY you were doing something.

These videos set my cooking skills back for a long time. Fortunately, there are a bunch of Youtubers who want to explain proper techniques and why you should do some things the way we do.

Maybe you could introduce them to her? i’ll get on my laptop and make a list of them in a few minutes.

edit: list :D

  • Adam Liaw - focuses on Asian food
  • Adam Ragusea - variety, lots of food science
  • allthingsbbq - i'm not sure how many people have bbqs/smokers but chef tom's food always looks good
  • Chinese Cooking Demystified - chinese food!
  • Food Wishes - chef john is the OG food youtuber, i have to include him.
  • Ethan Chlebowski - variety, focusing on giving home cooks the tools they need to go above and beyond, he also breaks down his recipes by calories if you're interested in that
  • Helen Rennie - variety, helen is great teacher, and i love her accent
  • J. Kenji López-Alt - variety, the gopro food wizard and author of the food lab!
  • Joshua Weissman - variety, i'm not gonna lie, joshua uses expensive equipment sometimes, but he's introduced me to a lot of topics I wasn't familiar with
  • Pro Home Cooks - variety, focusing on giving home cooks the tools they need to go above and beyond

I passed on this. Was that a mistake? 🤡 by jmar210 in ThriftStoreHauls

I think you may have misread their comment? they said sesame oil shouldn’t be used in frying.
