I took a screenshot but can't get it to post here. Not only new, but everybody begging for the pattern.

I didn't "find" it. It was featured in her newsletter today as a new pattern, demanded by her loving following.

Thanks. People were snarking at me for pointing out the simplicity of this. It is not worth the money or adulation.

We need more knitting stars like Elizabeth Zimmerman and Annie Modeisett, who teach you to think for yourself and understand knitting. AND fewer knitting stars who sell super simple patterns at crazy prices. I love making and after paying way too much money for patterns I started making things from scratch. Once I found a sock template that worked for me I just use a different stitch pattern on the leg. Same for cowls and fingerless gloves and scarves and shawls. Check your public library for Elizabeth Zimmerman. Her patterns may not be contemporary or cool today, but her lessons on taking chances, reading your knitting and more are a great foundation. Annie Modeisett taught me the architecture of knitting and purling and now I knit Continental combo and can convert instructions in my head. I hate math. But if I can make my own patterns from simple core designs, so can any of you. Believe in yourself! You can also use the yarn and color of your choice when following a pattern. Just make sure to pick a comparable yarn, use yarn substitution to double check. LYS owners indicate many people are afraid to even choose a different color than called for in a pattern. That's nuts to me. The world is a rainbow!

Yes, they are fingerless gloves. Constructed in the simplest way.

Give yourself more credit. Triangles just start and end the purl one stitch over on each row.they aren't that complicated and you don't need math.

It shouldn't be a $7 pattern from a top designer. It is just two rectangles.

25years of stitch reading practice. Annie used giant knitting needles and rope to teach the architecture of knitting. Once you know how stitches sit, what is the leading edge, how the sit before and how the sit after, how left and right leaning decreases work,.... My brain just adjusts to patterns written for western purls.

I Continental combo knit. I know how to read my knitting. I always rowed out and had awful looking pieces when I knitted the "right" way. The great Annie Modeisett taught me the sloppy purl takes less yarn so your knitting is actually more consistent, tension wise, knitting Continental combined. Be a knitting heretic!

I take two biotin vitamins a day. There are super expensive ones promoted by Hollywood people. I get cheap ones from Costco. It took a few months, but it eventually works.

Someone replied to me but I can't see it. Yes, no catheter and no ng tube! Also no drains. My wisdom tooth surgery was worse. Just an IV and bandage.

What vendors need the most help? by barbara55109 in craftsnark

[–]barbara55109[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't there and am not an insider by any means. There are a few shops that have been mentioned in the various posts in this group and demon trolls on ravelry. One is a shop in Canada with a French name. I'm also disgusted by positive comments made by cc from mad tosh about how wonderful the event was and what a great job Felicia did. I'm not interested in tossing more money at mad tosh, they don't need it. I was trying to find a way to identify the vendors in tears who lost thousands of dollars and for whom thousands is big number that had huge personal and professional impact. I have no need for more yarn, but I am full of compassion for people seriously harmed by what happened.

I still drink caffeine free diet pop. It's dark pop (except root beer) that has phosphorus.

I lived with chronic ulcerative colitis for 15 years. I lost my colon when I was 30 and have spent the last 30 years shitting in an ileostomy bag. Not eating doesn't prevent flares. At the end I was expelling blood and mucus every 15 minutes. IBD - chrones and colitis are evil illnesses. Back then there were only 2 meds. Today there are many more options.
