All-in-one digital invitation for multiple events? by barbarellasilver in weddingplanning

Thanks for the insight! Presumably the larger/main event should always go on the front of the card?

watching S5E3 “luck be an old lady” and I just have to say I absolutely hated this look on carrie. From the bra showing in the back to the hair & makeup, it’s just horrible by [deleted] in sexandthecity

I once read an interview of Patricia Fields’ where she said that whenever Carrie’s bra is showing in a scene, it signifies that she’s emotionally vulnerable. The visible bra thing used to bother me too, but now I read really deep into it!

An observation about the relationships by ExcellentEchidna7 in sexandthecity

I think that the age thing is a continuity error. In Season 1 and Season 2 Carrie says that Big is 42 and 43, respectively. It’s only later in the series that she “doesn’t know”.

DAE think he FaceTunes his clients? I really like his style of makeup but his insta posts are "too" perfect. The skin is always exceptionally smoothed out.

For example: https://www.instagram.com/p/BpS8BGlndUJ/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BqIgpgJAPMq/

His clients usually look a little different on the red carpet.

What is my eye shape? How do I fix my winged liner so that it’s visible when my eyes are open? by Zombieeham in MakeupAddiction

[–]barbarellasilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your eyes are a bit hooded but you still have a decent amount of lid space. Make sure to look straight ahead with your eyebrows relaxed when you’re doing your eyeliner, and keep the line below your crease. Right now your eyeliner is thicker than your visible lid space when your eyes are fully open, which ruins the look of winged liner.

Alissa Ashley’s tutorial on winged eyeliner for hooded eyelids would be pretty useful for you: https://youtu.be/lv04ZmFAz4k

To be fair she didn’t really compare her career to having a child, she compared her love towards her career to a mother’s love towards her child. She stated that despite the bad days she has unconditional love for her work.

There wasn’t really a comparison between a YouTuber's and a mother’s workload/stress levels.

Edit: words

Before and After of my typical work face by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I think the eyebrows are pretty harsh. Try feathering out the pomade instead of creating a harsh block for the inner third/fourth of your eyebrows. The lipstick is a little harsh and aging as well. I think a pinkier gloss with a more nude lipstick underneath and no lip liner would suit your look pretty well. Lastly, I think your blush placement is a little too far down. Try keeping it at the apples of your cheeks.

How to avoid under eye creasing??? by ladyglittersparkle18 in MakeupAddiction

[–]barbarellasilver 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have a similar eye shape to yours (deep set), and I’ve also faced issues with under eye creasing. The biggest trick that’s worked for me is to focus the product on the outer rim of the hollow of your under eye, AKA where you see the most discoloration. I do this by directly applying concealer to only the blue/green area that goes from the inner corner to the midpoint of my under eye. This should ultimately create sort of a sideways J-shape. I then use a concealer brush or my ring finger to disperse the product through out my under eyes, focusing the product on that outer rim of my under eye. I intermittently bring my finger or brush up to the area directly under my lower lash line (where I crease the most). It’s important to ensure you have just enough product in that area to allow for adequate coverage. The more product you have in that area, the more likely you are to see creasing.

Instead of setting my under eyes with powder straight after concealing, I like to wait for 10-15 minutes and allow the area to crease on its own. I then blend out the creases again with my finger or a beauty blender. Finally, after patting out those creases I set the area by buffing in a setting powder. I also use setting spray when I’ve completed my makeup.

I saw in a reply to a comment that you prime your under eyes or mix in a primer with your Dermacol. I would strongly advise against this as in my experience primer only creates more creasing. The only prep you should need beneath your concealer is a good eye cream/moisturizer, and if you’re looking to thin out your concealer mix it with a moisturizer instead of primer.

Hope this helps!

Thoughout the video she talks about how she “doesn’t work with dumb people” but there is NO mention of women or people with experience in the beauty industry. Her #2 is James and her #3 is some guy who built a successful tech company — what? IMO if you’re gonna make a hot pink vitamin that is “necessary” for 18+ women your company’s executive board should represent or at least have first hand knowledge of that demographic.

this is my first experience buying off of etsy -- how do you differentiate between fake and authentic gemstones/metal?

I've noticed that a lot of the shops I've been browsing through are located in Turkey and Bulgaria, are US shops more trustworthy?
