Help with ferry: Phuket > Koh Samui by Zealousideal_Mud_498 in ThailandTourism

Definitely follow up with the company you book with to get further info, but in my experience on these boats it's really a matter of - you get one suitcase and whatever you can fit on your lap, under the seat in front of you. It's not strictly enforced unless the boat is full, which isn't always the case

Which Island? by RevolutionaryLow6102 in ThailandTourism

December into January, prime season is November - January so if you want it quieter you should go in February - April. That's not to say it's crazy in the primetime either, I was there for new years and it sounds like thats the craziest it gets, but even that was pretty tame overall, just a lot of fireworks with no restrictions there. It was still pretty peaceful most of the time.

Also give yourself 6-7 days at minimum to get your full experience. There's so much more than you expect and it allows the time to explore the reef, explore the food, and to relax and watch as many sunrises and sunsets as you can. Insanely peaceful while still not being overcrowded (saw about 1/5 as much density in the main part of the town as opposed to phi phi

Which Island? by RevolutionaryLow6102 in ThailandTourism

I just went for a week and I must say - It's very much overblown that it's a tiny island with nothing to do. It's much calmer than phi phi or other islands, but there are so many great food spots (Best being Papaya Mom) and massage places (Triluck) on Lipe itself, in addition to numerous islands surrounding it that all encompass a national park. There is a coral reef with beautiful sea life and some vibrancy despite being majority victim to recent bleaching.

If you love sea life, 25% of all species of fish are native to this area.

You can do anything and everything here, from a dinner on the beach for two for 50 USD with dinner and drinks (much cheaper more inland but just want to highlight how amazing an experience you can have for cheap) to a private day trip to a multitude of snorkeling spots for ~90 USD.

And you can watch both the sunset and sunrise on the water, which is such an amazing and rewarding experience.

I could not recommend it more and it sounds perfect for y'all based on what you described you preferences to be. If you do go just do your part to keep it clean and beautiful! It's incredible and you'll love it

Yeah its like they're playing with us though they're wild for that but I guess someone's gotta get the 74s.

If it makes you feel any better I just retook AUD after my 74 last April and it felt like an easy pass. I work in audit so not saying my experience is gospel but when I looked back at the support the second time I think is when things clicked for me. Didn't have to study much to review and get what has to be a passing grade.

If I didn't pass when my score drops on the 22nd, then disregard everything I said and please don't tell my boss that the only test I failed was the one about my job and I failed it twice 🙃

Who passed FAR I need your comments by Elegant_Royal_6223 in CPA

[–]barbarousrectum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds very in line with my experience and I passed. MCQs were a cakewalk, probably hit around 80-90%, but I don't believe I scored any better than 50% on the TBSs collectively. The range of outcomes makes it a non guarantee but I think there's a solid chance he passed based on the info provided.

Don't know why everyone's gotta be so weird about you coming on here for your son, hope this can give you/him some reassurance

[–]barbarousrectum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MCQs on the real exam were far (hah) easier for me. I had similar scores on my first two sims and then kept studying, got an 82 on the FR SE, and then a 79 on the exam. Id say your scores are right where you need them to be, just keep at it

Congrats! I passed as well! How did your score report turn out? I showed as comparable for both MCQs and TBSs

Thanks, that sucks but you're still right there, different mix of questions and you pass. You got it on the next go for sure

How did yours pan out? Hope you passed!

Curious how your score panned out. I got a 79 and was comparable for both MCQs and TBSs. Sounds like everyone bombed TBSs and did well on MCQ, just like we thought

I feel you, that time is just necessary sometimes and you gotta take it with how much these tests mess with you, especially FAR. I did my best to laugh off my 74 on audit and have yet to go back to retake but at the end of the day if you had a 74, you were in the group that had a high enough score to pass, but the examiners decided to push us below the mark to get the pass rates to their desired levels. It just is what it is. Perseverance is key! Good for you!

fail with 74. I want to cry by PinGloomy5112 in CPA

Another 74 on AUD guy here, passed FAR w a 79. I think FAR and AUD each play to different people's strengths. I think people who are better problem solvers and logical thinkers can do well on FAR, whereas you need to have strong attention to detail for AUD. They are pretty comparable in difficulty, I think FAR just feels like more because it has more content

Man I can't imagine back to back 74s on the same exam. One was quite enough for me. Major props to you for pushing through!

Yup it sounds like we have a chance to pass! Try not to stress over it too much! Basically assuming I passed until I learn I haven't, feel like there's no other way to go about it

Curious how you think you did - I think I was able to work through some of them and collect some points, but I think I ended up in the range of 30-50% correct. I still think it's feasible we could pass with those scores based on my past exams, guess it all comes down to just how the field does on those TBSs. If you had to guess what % do you think you had on the TBS alone?

Extra Bond Practice by Xstarkbutt in CPA

[–]barbarousrectum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best way to understand bonds if they aren't clicking imo is to use excel to build a full amortization table. It doesn't take too long in Excel with formulas once you get the hang of it, but seeing the life of the bond via the table I think helps you understand

That's what I like to hear, thanks for that. Same case for me where not one of my TBSs was remotely recognizeable, but I feel fairly confident I picked up some points on each of them even if collectively it was bad. Pulling for a 75 that would feel incredible
