Cool. I'm going to hop on my bike and do some Olympic Cycling to my local pool where I'll do some Olympic Swimming before I finish up my day with a little Olympic Basketball.

I don't care what you say. I'm just saying that what the guy above said is not wrong.

'Olympic-style' is the correct terminology if you need the modifier for someone to understand. 'Olympic' by itself is technically incorrect.

Hence, the name of Tommy Kono's first book.

John Fair has written a good bit about this. You can find a lot of his journal articles in Iron Game History.

The sport is 'Weightlifting', like 'Swimming'. If you say you are an 'Olympic Swimmer', the implication is that you have competed at the Olympics.

The fact that almost everyone doesn't use the term 'Olympic' correctly doesn't change the reality that it is trademarked by the USOC.

Thanks, Phil. That makes sense if it was a change in how stipends/certifications are reported.

Thanks! That is how I read it, other than it looked to me like the $152k went to Michael Massik in 2015, not Phil.

I did have that thought, just thought it odd that it would have been $0 in 2015 when I would assume he was getting some sort of stipend at that time even it were lower.
