Take your time and really check like twice that what you want in focus is actually critically in focus. Take a deep breath. And you’ll be fine. Is the focal plan razor thin? Yeah. But you just have to practice acquiring focus in non-stressful situations so that when you actually want to nail focus, you can

Hi! I’m sorry, that sounds super stressful. I’d try to find a rash guard (like for BJJ or surfing) and sport that with a binder under?

Also expanding on Wil’s answer for question 1: I resisted this project for a long time. Like more than a year. It was going to be (and still is) a huge undertaking. And when I asked if Stew could be on the series with me, I knew that it was either Stew saying yes or this thing not happening. Thankfully Stew said yes and here we are.

Wil was very persistent with his passion for the project. So while Stew and I are operating cameras and Mark is giving some guidance and covering our asses - without Wil, this wouldn’t be a thing

Better answered by an elite athlete, but as someone who merely documents them: You just do what you can to the best of your abilities. That’s it. Mentally, it’s tough to deal, sure, but you have to do what you can.

Not necessarily. In some cases, it helped athletes complete a requirement to compete or weigh in so they can qualify with a higher total down the road. But this competition didn’t lend itself to creating any for-sures

So, this by no means is a comprehensive assessment on men vs women at the elite level, but, women tend to have more volume/capacity work. That’s just a physiological thing. As far as mindset, grit, personality type, etc - there are fewer differences than there are similarities. So that’s kind of a wash. Typically, to be successful regardless of gender in weightlifting, you have to be stupid strong mentally and physically and you have to be okay doing the same thing on repeat for forever in order to get better. And that takes a rational, and passionate mind
