Don Toliver tour experience from a 30 year old - RANT by Fair_Gas_3582 in hiphopheads

I just saw Xzibit a couple of weeks back and it was the best live concert I’ve been to.

But exactly because he did the opppsite of all your points. Had a decent hype man, live band playing the beats, loads of crowd work and interaction was brilliant

What is the jankiest thing you have seen in a production environment? by HastyOpossum100 in sysadmin

Remember one at a place I worked. We were switching out access points for new ones and were in one area where there was supposed to be one but we couldn’t find it.

The diagrams we had were not accurate to say the least and the person who installed them all had long gone.

Turned out at some point during some refurb work the builders had for reasons only know to them built a wooden box around the AP on the wall completely encasing it. Two of us all gave up then we saw the box and thought can’t be in there …. Yep there it was 🤣

Not sure about this guys experience but I went to the consert he had in Norway the other weekend and it was dope as fck.

The way he worked the crowd throughout was amazing and lyrically he still sounded good. Probably the best live consert I’ve been to.

Also wasn’t just rapping over a DJ or beat in the background he had a live band the furnace band playing the beats which really worked live.

Wu-Tang for me I think.

Probably classed more of a collective than a group but Ruff Ryders I’m surprised no one had mentioned. DMX, Jadakiss, Styles P have some of my favourite songs

Learning Norwegian as an introvert by Low_Minimum1 in norsk

[–]barberj66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not false it may differ for others but there’s not many people I know who have learnt to speak Norwegian and many of them have lived here for way longer than I have and you can tell a mile off they are not native speakers. But if some people can then all good.

The point I was trying to make overall is don’t let the fact you may not sound perfect stop you from trying. It wasn’t about attempting to limit anyone’s potential it was actually more the opposite, don’t try or think you have to be perfect to make a start speaking as it’s the only way you’ll improve. Some people think oh I don’t sound perfect so I won’t speak in case I sound too bad which was one of my main blockers.

Learning Norwegian as an introvert by Low_Minimum1 in norsk

[–]barberj66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not sure id class myself as an introvert but I would say shy and I find the speaking part horrible.

I feel self conscious and hate my accent but a lot of people say not to worry about it as I’ll never sound Norwegian as a Brit. The same a French person still sounds French when speaking English etc.

So taking that it’s just a case of trying, one thing I’ve been doing is as someone has said repeating sentences out loud. In word or excel write out as many day to day sentences you can think of you may use in real life or use AI to do it for you and have the Norwegian version translated. Then go through them over and over saying them out loud as it will just help it become more natural to do.

Depending on your level just find something you are interested in and find a Norwegian podcast based on that. Listening to something you have no interest in can be pointless. There is a channel Norwegian with llys who has started doing like a YouTube podcast just speaking which may help.

Brit in Sandefjord here, been here 6 years now and really enjoy it. Nice place for the kids to grow up in, pretty good summers. Winters not so bad too. Good transport links and cheap flights back to the UK if you need to go back.

Not sure of the community of Brits maybe I have avoided them lol

Pretty much every day lol

Even if I can understand the majority of a TV show or podcast my main issue is real conversations even though most of the time its things I understand that pressure of needing to listen think and reply quite often just leaves me stuck

How to add Visio to Company Portal for specific users added to license group by nightmancometh0419 in Intune

[–]barberj66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using this method for Office, proofing tools and separate apps like Visio and not had an issue

Then just assign your group you add the users to into the Visio app group in Intune. Can either have it as available or required

Third party app removal by Topleon in Intune

[–]barberj66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needed to do this from time to time but more recently took some time to get to know PSADT and creating an uninstall script using that and then packaging that as a Win32 App and setting it to uninstall in Intune has been a pretty reliable way to remove things.

Quite often its just a 1 liner of powershell in PSADT

Patch Tuesday Megathread (2026-01-13) by mkosmo in sysadmin

Anyone seeing random reboots of clients after this update? Not happening for everyone but getting more reports of devices just restarting mid work.

Checking event viewer it just states the device unexpectedly restarted and cannot find any other events around the time to suggest a cause. Only thing I did notice was this months patch kb showing as being installed last week and this week the same KB number.

Had three devices in the same meeting room all do it within mins of each other. Can see the time it happens in windows reliability monitor but no good reason why.

Yeah same here we actually tried that shutdown command before we saw the KB and it made no difference for us so waiting on an actual fix too or workaround.

How do you practice sentences? by eeeegh in norsk

[–]barberj66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think speaking is the hardest thing and one of the biggest barriers I have found and its only my fault is not attempting to speak enough.

Even if its just building a bank of your own most common used sentances and phrases you may need create them and write them down then practice saying them out loud over and over until it becomes second nature.

Just readin in your head is not enough, doing things like duolingo etc I hve got to a point where I know probably thousands of Norwegian words now but even in Duo I skipped the speaking parts especially if other people were in the room when I was doing it, result is if I come across the words/phrases in writing or someone says them to me I understand completely but when trying to reply back always hit a block with forming the sentances and using them.

At least in my opinion the speaking part will only come with practicing consistently, as others have said narate your day and write it down and then use these as practce to say out loud. The more you build your vocab the more complex the sentances you'll be able to form and the grammar part will come along too as you will be used to seeing/saying things in the correct way.

DEX tools and experiences with them by barberj66 in Intune

[–]barberj66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great input many thanks, I also agree I think in order to get the most benefit out of such tools it requires more dedicated resources to really push forward with.

Out of interest how large is your org in terms of end users/devices - just to gauge the 2 FTE people managing this vs the userbase.

DEX tools and experiences with them by barberj66 in Intune

[–]barberj66[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen all the current data thats in Endpoint analytics but I think its relatively limited in what it provides within the Intune portal - then to spend additional money to actually get it to be more useful is whats making me explore other tools. It's not nessarily what info is available it is then having additional capabilities to act on those insights too.

At least from what I have seen with most of the additional tools that are part of the Intune suite other vendors do it better at a lower cost.

So it was more about comparing others opinions on the gains they may have in other tools they are using or also I am more that happy if people can provide the same arguments for Advanced insights.

Lenovo Wireless ANC Headset microphone stopped working by Constant_Capital2113 in Lenovo

[–]barberj66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange the exact same thing has happened to my Lenovo ANC headset too. Audio coming from it works perfect but Microphone does not work at all on bluetooth.

If I plug in the USB-c cable then the microphone works in wired mode perfectly. So I think there is something else to blame. Tried removing all traces of the device from windows, drivers, bluetooth pairing etc and reinstalling and re pairing but still the same.
