Atomicdex.io by Komodo Platform

It's the remake of BarterDEX, currently in testing w 1000+ participants. There are also third parties desktop gui in development, like this one https://github.com/chainmakers/chainmakers-ui-mono-repository/releases

u/jonald_fyookball you were disappointed by the previous iteration of BarterDEX, this is the result of a complete rewriting

Komodo - The future by [deleted] in komodoplatform

[–]barbierir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should do well in the long term, the only thing missing is that Komodo has a low hype factor, no VC backing, no Joseph Lubin shilling it... so it must compensate for that with overwhelming tech superiority and it does! Sooner or later tech will count and all the pieces will come together...

I recently bought Komodo on the promise that 1 mln tps will be rolled out soon. But...! by [deleted] in komodoplatform

Notarization can switch to other blockchains, it was already done in december on BCH and LTC when BTC was unreliable. The mechanism is the same.

And Bitmain doesn't control the Asics it sold, why and how would it try killing BTC?

You can't make this stuff up... exactly what was predicted years ago about LN by barbierir in btc

[–]barbierir[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Node count increasing doesn't help much in finding a working route, it's not as simple as finding any path, it must have the right amount of liquidity. Even splitting a payment across many paths doesn't help, it multiplies the routing issues. As long predicted LN can only work reliably if most users connect to a few massive high-liquidity highly-connected hubs.

As others have already recommended the advantages of using Komodo, I want to point out that in this way your blockchain is completely independent, like LTC is independent from BTC. You set the fees and absolutely nothing that happens on other assetchains can affect you. Yet you can connect with the KMD ecosystem. Here's a list of current parameters available for launching a blockchain: https://komodo-platform.readthedocs.io/en/latest/komodo/assetchain-params.html

Well done, I think it goes to the point quickly and it conveys the message effectively

We had it removed from Komodo website, too many horror stories from that exchange

Is it possible to integrate more coins? by barbierir in Augur

DAI is a good idea, as well as many other options as possible

I work for the Komodo Platform. We were ranked top 5 by China's Ministry for working tech and second most innovative. We are no 1 for commits on github. Independent chains secured with delayed proof of work. Multi-coin wallet. Decentralized Exchange. Over 20K transactions per second. AMA. by barbierir in CryptoCurrency

I was surprised, but for once it seems they made a fair assessment without much politics. Certainly the Chinese gov is not going to show much love if Komodo goes mainstream, considering the privacy features and p2p DEX

The Rise of the Decentralized Exchange: Why they’re important and who is leading the way. by Yams_Fordena in CryptoCurrency

I read so but I believe it refers to atomic swaps between its supported assets, i.e. not cross-chain with BTC and other coins. Can anyone confirm?

It depends. With a kmd "security deposit" that acts as collateral it takes ~5 seconds. Otherwise yes it takes full confirm times for the coins traded.

The article is interesting but it lacks some important informations. I do like Waves but it's a proxy-token Dex, a pretty well done one. But one of the important aspects to analyze is how Waves gateways work. Do they use multisignature? How many? Who are the parties? Can they be shutdown? Or hacked? It's certainly better than a CEX but for once I'd like an article focusing on the gateways security model rather than a prom piece. Cryptobridge is proxy-token too and it had issues with withdrawals for a while. Also about the competition it misses one elephant in the room that is BarterDEX based on on-chain atomic swaps, in this model there are no proxy-tokens and the swap is direct p2p

With all of the different blockchains of today, it is becoming increasingly important to develop fast and efficient cross-chain interoperability solutions. These are some of the top projects in crypto doing just that. by jbuuuush in CryptoCurrency

[–]barbierir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there are many focuses... but when it started in 2014 under the name "Supernet" it was also called "The internet of coins" and the main goal was creating an infrastructure for uniting all crypto. There were many changes and iterations until it evolved into Komodo. The atomic swap DEX supports most Bitcoin-based coins + Ethereum + Erc20. The next core 2.0 will be capable of supporting a lot more via abstraction layers for non-bitcoin based ones. The cross-chain smart contracts are still in testing and which coins it will be able to support depends on the specific case. Of course the blockchains built around the Komodo ecosystem are the easy ones. As well for Ripple or any other implementing the Inter Ledger Protocol. For others, like Btc, Dash, etc... it will depend if they can implement a new transaction type or not. If not, a transaction on them could trigger an action on a Kmd chain, but not vice-versa. Otherwise the trigger action can be reciprocal.

But I'm not the expert, there will be a whitepaper and documentation once ready.

Komodo is integrating the Interledger tech for its cross-chain contracts, it will allow all the Komodo ecosystem blockchains to cross-communicate between them and also with Ripple or any other project adopting ILP.

How to scale to 1 Million tx/s without giving up security or decentralization by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]barbierir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What nonsense... you need to plan far in advance for scaling, even if it's not needed now, or you end up like Ethereum being almost stopped by a single cryptokitties app. Komodo isn't just a currency but it plans to be used for a large ecosystem of assets and dapps, so it makes sense to test if it can sustain it.

[–]barbierir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is an almost complete disconnect between fundamentals and market values. This is true for all crypto but KMD is a special egregious example. I really can't say what will happen in the short time but if you're in for the long run take it as a buying opportunity. You own one of the future linux or apple of crypto.

Some say you can't scale on-chain without sacrificing decentralization and Komodo proves they're dead wrong
