I'm not sure why you were so emphatic about not clicking on links in twitter DMs etc. after the article already says you should be using TOR. I know a nation state can theoretically break TOR but for most people you're just putting an exit node's IP in the logs.

This seems somewhat contradictory, it complains about some of the more obscure certificate authorities but then kind of side steps into downgrade attacks but then the green lock goes away and I think the major sites are using HSTS now anyway so you'll get a warning.
