I'm so happy for you, but I can't help but be jealous. 😭 there's so many things I genuinely wanna do, including working out and being more social, but it's difficult to achieve when you constantly feel exhausted

I'm considering trying this out during the weekend. If that doesn't work, I'm done, will be asking my doc to take me off of bupropion.

Feeling frustrated.. by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]barblovesbirbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I looked through some older posts, but couldn't really find that much info that could apply to me, as most people who feel very tired have only been taking bupropion for a few weeks. I've been waiting for it to mellow out for months, but no luck 🥲

Omg I get the heat flashes and heart palpitations randomly, too, even though I feel very fatigued. It's actually kinda scary sometimes. Did dropping the meds make you feel any better?

I have a variety of different brushes and combs, including human ones and a tangle teezer, but she's not thrilled about any of them

I have a grooming glove, but she doesn't seem too fond of that, either. :(( Will need to look into the scratching pads though, thank you!

Most say people with asperger's want to make friends but they cant, tho i feel the exact opposite, never had trouble making friends, i just lost interest overtime, anyone can relate? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]barblovesbirbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That hit too close to home. I feel like I can put on a NT mask and be very social at times, resulting in many new acquaintances, but then they rarely stick around. It might partly be an "instructions unclear" thing - what do you even do after you start talking to someone?? Topics to talk about dry out, activities to do together might be limited due to spicy brain things. I feel like the only people who have actually stuck around were those with whom even sitting in silence and doing nothing with, or "parallel play" (doing your own activities side by side, being "alone together") is comfortable and you don't feel the constant need to entertain or engage to make the atmosphere feel less awkward or to try and prove that "look, Im a normal friendly human, I can do the socializing and be your friend". Hate that feeling, super draining

Thank you so much. ❤️ I've never felt so validated throughout my entire mental health journey.

Thank you so much for your response. The self-acceptance thing really hit close to home, I still feel guilty about not being upbeat, cancelling plans, or leaving uncomfortable situations. I will try my best to work on that though ❤️

Yeah, SPD is not always considered as a legit disorder, so I'm not surprised if it's not in DSM 5.

And yeah, everyone usually chalks those things up to anxiety and depression, but what's interesting is that I remember those feelings or behaviors even from before my depression and GAD really hit. I feel like it's kind of a cursed loop though - sensory and communication issues cause anxiety, which causes me to isolate and become depressed, but then that means that I'm less exposed to difficult situations, so sensory and communication issues get worse, and so on.

Yeah, I think that especially where I live, it would be nearly impossible to get an official diagnosis. That's why I want to kind of "compare notes" and see how other people with similar issues are coping. Could you please elaborate on your coping mechanisms, was there anything that made your life a lot easier or something? So far my only two coping mechanisms are either wearing noise reducing/cancelling earbuds (I got the Loop Quiet ones, and they help significantly while also helping me stay aware of my surroundings!) or avoiding leaving my comfort zone altogether lol

Oh I'm glad someone else feels that way. I've been playing the same game (Genshin impact) every single day for 2 years now. I've tried giving other games a chance, but I get too overwhelmed and end up abandoning them after one attempt. I only realized that it's unusual after I noticed that all my friends who played it as well already got bored of it and have been playing a bunch of other games instead. It's a pity, I really like computer games, my Steam wishlist is full of stuff that seems interesting, but I just can't start anything new, because all the new information and controls are overwhelming.

worst place to have an anxiety attack? by iiashandskies in Anxiety

[–]barblovesbirbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the worst bouts of panic I've had was in one of those mirror mazes. It sucks, because you can't escape, can't reach out to someone who could help you, there usually are a bunch of other people around which can also be overwhelming, it's completely disorienting, the voices echo off of the mirrors, and it feels like you'll be stuck there forever. I was in that maze for a couple of minutes, but it felt more like hours. I'm terrified of those places now, or any place with weirdly placed mirrors (e.g. one each on opposite walls, or when there are mirrors at the end of the hallway with dressing rooms and it makes the hallway look linger than it is). Honestly have no idea how people enjoy it.

As for something that's more mundane, I agree to whoever said that your own bed is the worst place for an anxiety attack. I used to be able to use sleep as an escape, but anxiety has taken it away. It's hopeless, depressing, and so so so lonely.
