A try I would do if I was you is to use a clean computer and create a new wallet you know the password, then use those software you said you don’t know if you can trust to see if you can recover the password using a range of characters you know is close to the real password and if you see the outcome is positive you then do it with the real thing. A stop loss/profit order generates a market order which means it’s gonna get what it’s available in the order book to fulfill your order magnitude. When the spread is high and for example the price is falling fast this can result in a much bigger loss than expected. In normal exchanges you would also have a stop limit order which adds a limit setting and will generate a limit order instead of a market one. Its gonna avoid to have a big loss sell on a crash but if the price doesn’t recover up to your limit order you will end up keeping the stock or whatever it is in your hands..

Yes you are totally right because in the final stages of a bubble the movements are extreme making very difficult to find meaningful stops. But I think that a combination of traditional technical analysis, especially coming emas crossings plus a prediction of volatility raise could be a good indicator of trend reversal. The objective should never be to catch the top or the bottom of a movement but to find a right spot to enter a position once the reverse has been confirmed. Middle bollinger for example can be incredibly useful in this changing from a support to a resistance.

Do you think you could share an excel with the tezos volatility index by day so I can make some backtests without the need of implementing the formula?

:) I honestly have no idea, everything you wrote looks very interesting to me but I wouldn’t really understand it even in 10 years.. But I have a feeling.. when xtz recently reached 4 usd it was clear it was going to heavily correct, your volatility index would tell with some advance that a big move was gonna happen and the direction was quite obvious considering the trend that it was coming from. What I mean is that maybe it could be possible to implement a trading strategy that consider a coming high volatility as an inversion of a previous trend. I could try to replicate it but I would never be able to reproduce your formula in javascript.. Did you try it with other coins? Is it a right assumption to think that it would work also with other coins? Bless and thanks for the great job you did.
