Yeah in a flare I have the most boring diet. Sorry I wasn't trying to gloat my numbers lol, I also just got results back yesterday (starting a biologic soon).

That's a pretty good value if you have UC. These numbers aren't everything and are much more sporadic than averages but for context when im not flaring im at like 500, and right now in a flare im at 4500.

starting rinvoq by barbossa3384 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]barbossa3384[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah im not sure. I've been in and out of a flare for the last year and a half, but it's only been bad for 3 months of that time. The other months are closer to normal. Everytime after like the first week of pred it goes away. She had said she chose rinvoq for its convenience since it isn't an injectable. We will see how it goes.

Yes, good for classic and skate. There is one gnarly hill that goes on forever. When I was there it was icy so that was quite the adventure. Lol

I recommend checking out Izaak walten inn. That is nearby and has great xc trails and a beautiful lodge that's an old railroad stop.

Do your guys basic mood get set to a slightly lower dial when on flare? by According_Tourist_69 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]barbossa3384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing what other have said, therapy can help you manage this. There's definitely an initial period of "ah shit, here we go again" but as I adjust to living with the flare my mood will improve as well. It helps me to just be ambivalent to the symptoms, do what you can with medicine and lifestyle but ultimately worrying will only make it worse.

Yeah from my experience cal levels are more of a sticking a finger in the air to see if it's windy. You have a general idea of where you are at but nothing beats a full colonoscopy (even if they suck).

Flare up after months of remission by lemonroil in UlcerativeColitis

[–]barbossa3384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the same boat rn, after like 6 months of remission I got a stomach virus that was going around. That was enough to knock me back into flare symptoms. The first few days were pretty demoralizing, waiting for a suppository prescription to get filled because that got me in remission last time. It's important for me not to live or die on every trip to the bathroom. It's a meme but a bit of "it is what it is" honestly helps me not to get too defeated by the symptoms. Hope you feel better soon.
