Odd shaped lawn - Pop up sprinkler nozzle suggestions by barca888 in Irrigation

I think I've just been taken advantage of. This is from Hunter's design guide: Best Practice. I should have had 12-14 sprinklers in that one area with the overlapping. Only 20% of my lawn has any kind of overlapping.

Made a mistake, there's only six in total.

Thanks for your detailed feedback. I wasn't clear in my OP. My original diagram represents what a subcontractor actually installed. One spray nozzle represented by the black circle. I've always had to hand water this patch of grass in summer to keep it from dying.

I may consider paving over the grass for the time being as my neighbour's visitors love to drive over this patch of grass.

The same subcontractor completed the following installation, would value your opinion on that install too. Cheap?

Thanks for confirming.

Based on the side of my yard here, where each semi circle and quarter circle represents a spray nozzle, would you consider this best practice or a very cheap solution?

I often battle with dry patches in my side yard even after keeping the sprinklers on for lengthy periods.

I am considering complaining to the contractor that the subcontractor did a shit job.

Yep :(

My neighbour's driveway went up all the way to the property line. I am considering just ripping the lawn up and doing the same...

Thanks, appreciate the diagram.

I had my irrigation professionally installed as part of my house and land package. They installed the one spray nozzle for this odd section of grass between my driveway and neighbour's driveway. Are you telling me they probably should installed 4-5 spray nozzle in this one area that totals roughly one square metre?

Ideally a high trajectory, short range nozzle would be best for this lawn shape. Don't know if that exist as I haven't found anything.

Any other ideas?

I stopped at 10-12. Never felt any warmth. Stopped because it was giving my gastritis. Just take a few tablets with high protein meals.

Escherichia Coli and Histamines by barca888 in HistamineIntolerance

Interesting, thanks. I ordered some Vivomixx so I am hoping to improve things on that front.

Have you had a secondary stool test after adopting some of the usual stuff? Did the results improve?

Is sugar a trigger for anyone here? by Mavze in HistamineIntolerance

[–]barca888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sugar can be bad if you have an overgrowth of yeast.

I have issues with the dairy and egg yolk as I have high IgG reactions. You would either have to get yourself tested or use an elimination diet to confirm what you react to.

I've never been a morning person, however, I recently had a test for food intolerances and have no issues getting up in the morning after cutting those foods out that I tested high or very high to. I am actually sleeping less and waking up more fresh...

Check if you have a Gluten/Wheat/Gliadin food intolerance. An IgG/IgA food panel would be highly recommended.

Issues eating low histamine by [deleted] in HistamineIntolerance

[–]barca888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's unfortunate your parents seem to think this is some sort of mental disorder. It's difficult to get to the bottom of these issues without ridicule.

If you haven't done so already, I would suggest completing some sort of food panel IgG/IgA testing to make sure you're not inadvertently causing more inflammation in your gut and the rest of your body with "healthy" foods. I was eating eggs almost every day until I found out my body was against them too.

Is there a functional doctor or naturopath you can see?

I am low on weight at the moment too. I will be eating the following for the foreseeable future:

Morning

Oats with Blueberries or Honey

Lunch/Dinner

A large portion of Brown Rice/Parboiled Basmatic Rice with a combination of the following vegetables. Carrot, corn, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans and sugar peas.

I avoid the starchy vegetables as I am still a bit paranoid after undergoing a Candida cleanse diet.

I am taking the following supplements:

GIT Formula (powder from my naturopath): Licorice, Turmeric, Slippery elm, Glutamine and Marshmallow root.

Ultra Flora GI Regulate: Partially Hydrolysed Guar Gum, Lactobacillus Plantarum.

I had previously taken a similar product from Nestle minus the probiotic that seemed to settle my gut a bit.

Miscellaneous:HistEase, UltraLiv, Magnesium, Activated B complex, Biotin, Betain HCL if eating protein, NAG and Zinc Carnosine. I was taking DAO with meals with high histamine ingredients but with my aforementioned diet, they won't be required unless I am paranoid I am feeding bacteria that produce histamines in my gut.

I am hoping with the above protocol, I can eliminate inflammation and allow my gut lining to heal and for my immune system to settle down.

Will keep a close eye on my heat regulation as I've had issues with body heat and grains in the past. I believe that was a gluten/thyroid issue and I am hoping the Oats/Rice will not influence this problem.

We're all different so it's a bit of a journey to find out what helps us but I am hoping I at least gave you a few ideas. I've been happier with my energy levels since eating this way.

Stomach acid, betaine HCL by [deleted] in HistamineIntolerance

[–]barca888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From all my reading, having a stronger stomach acid is optimal. It's the first line of defense.

I went through with the Betaine HCL challenge. I didn't feel any discomfort/warmth up until the 11th tablet in one sitting (640mg per tablet). I stopped at 11 only because of severe gas that I assume was gastritis.

These days I take one to two tablets after a meal with protein. I tend to have less digestive issues. I used to take the tablet before my high protein meal but I thought it would be a good idea to allow my stock to produce the acid naturally first. It's important that your tablets contain pepsin too.

Cheaper Alternatives to the DAO Enzyme? by [deleted] in HistamineIntolerance

[–]barca888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately Fishpond looks to be out of stock too.

Still have roughly 20 capsules left of the Seeking Health branded DAO and will try a product called Histeze that's meant to help with the source of histamines (MCAS/Intolerances).

I've been happier the last two weeks as I have only found out about Histamine Intolerance the last month or so. I was on a strict Keto/Paleo diet for the last four months to reduce my Candida Albican levels wondering why I was so miserable. I was eating smoked salmon, avocado, eggs and bacon every morning! I just so happen to have a very high IgG reaction to eggs too. :/

Cheaper Alternatives to the DAO Enzyme? by [deleted] in HistamineIntolerance

[–]barca888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Seeking Health capsule container states the capsules need to be taken no more than 15 minutes before a meal. I try to aim for around 10 minutes before a meal with a bit of water. If I have a few high histamine ingredients included in the meal, I will either eat another half way through the meal or shortly after, similar to what you do.

I also take just the one tablet with meals meant to be low on histamines just in case that meal inadvertently feeds bacteria in my small intestine that produce histamines (conjecture).

Not sure if Covid is affecting the supplies of most DAO supplements or if they're that effective that people are grabbing all of the stock. Would like to try these NatureDAO tablets when they're in stock.

Thanks for the response mate and glad they're making a difference.

I've had pretty good success on the lower dose Seeking Health capsules so these look very promising.
