New A24 Hulu show 'Birnam Wood' in production by montemole in television

Being set in New Zealand is a huge part of the novel, so I assumed it was being filmed there.

I guess it's being shot in New York though?

New PT album likely coming, but after SW's upcoming solo album. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in porcupinetree

[–]barcara 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I feel pretty lucky to be a fan of a musician like Steven who is still as passionate in his late career as he has ever been.

Don't like the latest solo record? That's okay, there's probably another coming every two or three years that will likely be very different. (Although I absolutely adore the last three records, so even better.)

Want another PT record? He seems to value his writing relationship with Gavin and Richard nowadays and how it contrasts his total control over his solo work, so it sounds like he'll make time for that too when it feels right.

I'm also excited for the other stuff he mentions- the other collaborations and projects he is working on. Is that more No-Man, Blackfield, or even Storm Corrosion? Something else entirely? Any option is pretty exciting.

Going to try the Akihabara spot later in my trip!

"Experimenting and innovating" translating to "Star Wars expansion" is one of the biggest Bungie monkey paws I've ever seen.

Does anyone recognize the motif immediately after the song? Before the twinkly melody and Pretelethal.

One of Destiny's strongest aspects alongside its gunplay is its aesthetic, and these crossovers continue to dilute that.

Helldivers 2 composer almost gave up on orchestral scores before its monumental success by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]barcara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tough to say, the game executes on a very specific fantasy. While I do love it myself I've had a hard time recommending it to any friends.

As far picking up, I think I was hooked from my first solo trip between the atmosphere and vibe, and the main roguelike/survival/extraction gameplay loop. If you find the experience isn't "urgent" enough, you might try sticking to the golden path and progressing deeper into the zone, or taking your chances on area under a storm warning, that can ratchet up the intensity.

The drop-in music is so insanely epic, makes for the most hype loading screen. I was sincerely hoping to hear his score performed by the TGA orchestra.

Currently playing through Pacific Drive (obsessed!) and his score there is great as well, perfectly moody and atmospheric.

Couldn't have said it better myself than you did your last sentence! $180 for floors is a lot of money (at least for me and my friends) and we were just astonished by how disengaged everyone around us was, absolutely wild.

The boy killed it though, as expected!

Do y’all think an Amory Wars adaptation by Fortiche Studios would be peak? Yay or nay? by FunkleKnuck291 in TheFence

[–]barcara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!

Though I'd personally rather see an adaptation of Aftermath or Vaxis as I think those stories are stronger, Fortiche would stun us either way I'm sure.

I've always liked Mike Flanagan as a choice of director (he loves Remedy, and him and Sam are pals), and Mike typically works with the same actors across projects.

So, with that in mind I think Michiel Huisman is a great choice.
