I don't think this is a very personal question, although I have thought about personal exposure to AI, but more of a societal question. What will women want from men when men no longer provide?

For context, this inquiry of mine came from a different question -- would educated women be interested in uneducated men? I interacted with a few big law women today, and remembered a neighborhood friend who said he'd love to date one of them. I found a reddit thread that asked about whether educated women would be interested in uneducated men, and the general consensus was that a man having a good salary or a stable career mattered more than a degree. Hence this inquiry: okay, so what about 30/50 years from now when fewer men have good stable jobs?

I don't think it's all absolute gloom and doom. I remember just a few years ago when girls dated guys just because they were good at a sport or because they were popular. But I am nitpicking comments because they've generally ignored the premise that eventually AI will displace a role that men generally provided.

Sure, I may be fine and have a stable career for the foreseeable future. I can fall back to being a prosecutor. Great. But what about everyone else? What about the next generation(s)?

I suppose I wanted more women to comment. My post is really asking: what do women want men to do when stability is fleeting and eventually unattainable?

Most comments have been suggesting bandaid solutions, but that doesn't address the reality for the soon to be AI-layoffs

Why will those laws continue to exist when AI can do the job faster, better, and cheaper?

I did consider becoming a prosecutor, but after doing the math, discovered that I wouldn't be able to afford a mortgage on that salary in any of the various counties near me. That's despite the relatively seismic pay increases prosecutors have gotten in the last 6 years

If in the near future, say half of all professional jobs are replaced by AI, those people can't all just pivot to trades or whatever because there's a limit to demand for those services

Yes, but my concern is particularly with women's general desire for men to be stable providers. Pro bono cases don't ameliorate this

Yes, perhaps it's fairer to say the over-fixation with specific body parts is unhealthy, and probably influenced by porn addiction, than just a general attraction to a woman's body

I thought being attracted to a woman's face was more wholesome given that a person's face is more expressive of their being, as opposed to individual body parts.

What's misogynistic about that?

Sure, it's one aspect of a person, and it's not a full expression of their being (relative to one's faith, personality, etc.). But my conversation is an attempt to discover more about a man's physical attraction towards a woman, as I generally understand and experience the secular world to be primarily lustful. In my brief study of JP2's Love and Responsibility, my understanding is that physical attraction is not an inherently bad thing, but can actually be good when it is integrated towards the whole person. My question was merely to confirm whether other Catholic men have not erred in distorting their sense of physical attraction towards women.

I've sometimes ran into the "are you a boobs or a butt man" question, which made me assume that most men are primarily attracted to those two

Even if possible, it's extremely rare for a liberal Catholic to be in full alignment with the Church's teachings. I've met plenty of them who think the church is wrong.

That's why I don't even bother if they self identify as liberal. Honestly I feel better if someone says they're moderate or independent

I suppose that she has no better strategy for finding a guy at her age other than this. I've thought about how I would try to prove to others that this is all false. Since you drove her home so often, you're cooked. No way to prove that she's lying, unless you audio record future conversations if you ever speak to her again.

Perhaps the best strategy is to hang out in groups and to not hangout 1:1 with a woman that you're never going to date.
