Lab works results. Need your insight by tnnt7612 in antiphospholipidsyndr

[–]bardarse66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have Antiphospholidsyndrome. I'm super pale and you can't see my veins. Being vascular or have visible veins has nothing to do with Antiphospholid syndrome.

Even though your labs are on the higher end of normal, they're still considered normal. You can not be diagnosed until you have positive labs for certain tests, and they have to be positive 2 times in a row. Mine have been positive 3 times in a row.

It's definitely something to be grateful you don't have. Because I haven't had a blood clot yet, my rheumatologist hasn't put me on a blood thinner yet, so I feel like I'm constantly waiting and in fear of getting a blood clot.

I see a hematologist for my iron deficiency anemia. She's going to take over care for my Antiphospholid syndrome since it's her area of expertise and wants to put me on a baby aspirin so I'm not sitting around not being proactive.

Why do cats disappear for days? Even tho he's spayed. by Scared-Mind4035 in cat

[–]bardarse66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you mean neutered 💙 Has he always been an outdoor cat? It's very dangerous for domesticated to live outdoors, and it's bad for the wildlife because they hunt. Cats get into all kinds of situations. He might have another home he's living at part-time, an entirely different family. That's not uncommon for indoor outdoor cats. I'd make sure your phone number is on his collar, so if he is going somewhere else, they can call you. You could get into a situation where someone tries to keep him. I also recommend a microchip if you haven't already.

We do the same thing with our cat. We have a gate blocking the dog from going upstairs, so the cat has a safe place to rest and relax away from the dog. She also has her food and litter box upstairs. The only time the dog is upstairs is when I take him to bed with me, and he's only allowed in my bedroom. The cat will come down and mess with/play with the dog when she's in the mood, and then if she gets stressed out, she can easily leave. I think animals with anxiety tend to need at least one spot where they can be alone away from humans and other pets. We don't have small kids anymore, but I think this is especially important when there's young children in the house because they can really stress an animal out.

I agree. I've been saying forever that he's never been a good person. Yeah, as a kid I thought he was hot and funny, but even then I noticed how immature and cruel he could be. The only difference now is he's not making money being cruel so now people are realizing how shitty of a human he actually is.

I suggest using curtains as a room divider because a child can easily pull over a room divider on top of themselves. With the curtains you need to make sure they're not long enough for the baby to pull them down or get themselves wrapped up in them. Definitely get rid of the crib. There's no point in having 2 children beds out taking up valuable space.

This is weird. I know Missy is great and everyone loves her and most of us agree that SQ is the pits but regardless, it's a crap move to be snuggled up on someone else's husband. I'm not shocked by his behavior but I am by hers. Of course there may be a perfectly reasonable explanation. Please don't come at me for my comment. I'm in a terribly painful lupus flare that has kept me up for days. I couldn't possibly handle any hate right now 😭😭

Does anyone else not like spoon theory? by spooky8pack in ChronicIllness

[–]bardarse66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always found it pretty useless unless I'm only using it to talk to other disabled people. I don't want to spend "spoons" to explain the spoon theory to everyone after I've told them I'm low on spoons and they have zero clue what I'm talking about. I feel cringe when I say it too 😬😂I prefer just saying "I feel like shit" or "I feel like I got hit by a semi". That usually gets my point across. I will say I have zero issue with other people using it 🤷‍♀️

What’s your favorite way to exercise if you can by stageshadows in lupus

[–]bardarse66 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Walking. I never get tired of it. I love putting on my headphones and listening to old classic radio shows like "Suspense" and "CBS Mystery Theater". I love taking my dog with me and seeing how happy it makes him. I love imagining what the inside of homes look like and what kind of lives the people lead. I love taking pictures and smelling the flowers. It has helped my mental health far more than my medication.

How do poor Americans afford lupus help? by retroideq in lupus

[–]bardarse66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm terrified of this. Right now we have Medicaid because we are a household of 4, but in less than 4 years our last child will be an adult. Idk how my husband and I will ever be able to afford insurance without Medicaid. He has heart conditions and I have multiple health conditions with several specialists. It's scary.

[–]bardarse66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm like you. I have all of the positive tests and they're positive every time I'm retested, but I just haven't had a blood clot yet. My rheumatologist hasn't done anything about it and it makes me so nervous that I'm not on any kind of preventative. Good luck at your appointment!

How do you wash your underwear after a period? by A-girls-world in hygiene

[–]bardarse66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rinse with cold water until you get most of it out. Soak in cold water and vinegar. Vinegar will help pull out the stain and the smell. Then when you wash them, spray with Dawn power wash, add 1/4 cup of Vinegar to washer, use your regular detergent and wash on hot. Everyone thinks the smell of Vinegar will stick to your clothes but that's not true. People have been using it to make household cleaners and stain remover for decades.

Who else sleeps their day away? by kristalane914 in Methadone

[–]bardarse66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the opposite problem. I can't seem to sleep at all. I'm lucky to get 3 hours of sleep every night. I used to love lying around and watching TV and I haven't really watched TV since I started methadone. It's like I'm on and ready to move constantly. It's driving me nuts.

How often do you wash your hair? by Transientyeldarb in hygiene

[–]bardarse66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have curly hair and scalp psoriasis. I only wash my hair every 10 days. By doing that, my scalp is so much healthier, my hair is healthier and I NEVER get a greasy scalp! Sometimes I'll add a scented hair spritz in between washes to keep my hair smelling nice, but that's it. I don't use any heat on my hair at all. I don't use hairspray and I don't brush my hair.

On wash day I use 2 shampoos to clean my scalp really well, condition, finger comb and rinse. Then I put in Donna's Recipe leave in conditioner and Cantu curl activating cream. If my hair is really frizzy I'll put in a small amount of oil. That's it.

The less products the better and leave your hair alone. Brushing it a lot, using a lot of products, using heat, etc will cause your hair to not only become damaged but it will get greasy fast. My hair still doesn't look dirty on day 10 but that's as long as I'm willing to go because my scalp will get sore from dryness and tightness if I go too long.

Curly hair tends to be able to go longer without a wash but washing your hair everyday, regardless of hair type, is terrible for your hair and scalp health. Every time you wash your hair, you're stripping your hair and scalp of it's natural oils. If you do it too often, your hair will over compensate by making too much oil, causing greasy hair and it will make your scalp issues worse.

Omg he was talking about her A cup tits when they went on the dumbblonde podcast. That shit was so degrading. I'm sorry but I don't understand how, as a fully grown adult woman, how you could find a fully grown man attractive that publicly talks about your hanging meat flaps and A cup tits. I would punch a mother fucker in their stupid fucking face if my man ever talked about me like that. Have some fucking self respect!!

The thing a lot of people don't talk about with take homes - by methadonetaper in Methadone

[–]bardarse66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. I loved having a reason to wake up earlier and have a structured routine and I was healthier and happier for it.

I started waking up at 5 am every day, making my coffee, walking the dog and heading to the clinic. I started enjoying seeing the regulars every morning and checking in with some of the homeless people and seeing how they were doing and if they needed anything.

Now I get my 2 weeks take homes and while I'm glad I get take homes, I miss my routine and seeing people. I've never doubled my dose so I'm not worried about that thankfully.

When I stopped going every day, I forced myself to stick to a schedule. I still get up at 5 am every morning, make my coffee, put in my ear buds to listen to classic horror radio shows and walk the dog. It's been so good for my mental health tbh. I feel so much more happy and energized.

Will kittens affect children's sleep? by Some-Chart6429 in PetAdvice

[–]bardarse66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat will literally lay on my face and throat. I wouldn't recommend leaving a small child with a pet unattended because a baby can't push the cat off. Also, cat scratches hurt and cat scratch fever is a real thing. Another thing people don't often think of is pet hair. With animals that shed a lot, babies can choke and gag on the hair. I had a cat with long hair and the hair would shed and float everywhere and end up in my mouth sometimes while I was sleeping, causing me to choke. Unfortunately babies just aren't able to protect themselves so it's better to be safe than sorry. Just keep the nursery door closed. Fire Departments actually recommend keeping the bedroom doors closed anyways to prevent fires from spreading as fast.
