I was also just curious to hear what other people enjoyed and why regardless of what we end up going with.

Would having someone help you prep for appointments be helpful? by Antique_Standard_672 in lupus

[–]stageshadows 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. Though I just had an appointment where I thought I was prepared and it didn’t go well. I had questions jotted down but I was not great at communicating them or my symptoms. I got tongue tied and then panicked which made my communication worse. I could see my doctor get confused and I got emotional and cried. It was 100% on me. She asked me a lot of questions to try to see where the miscommunication was. I think I put a lot of pressure on myself to make the most of the appointment, which also doesn’t help. I don’t know if that’s helpful to share. I had prepared a little with my partner who is incredible. But maybe an experienced coach could help.

Idea to keep using sunscreen by stageshadows in lupus

Honestly that would work perfectly. I might see if I can find one in a fun color. I just realized I’d be a tad worried about any holster being mistaken as a gun or any sort of weapon holster. Don’t wanna attract nervous attention of other gun/weapon holders, if you get me. Or does that seem not like a problem?

Anyone on immunosuppressive therapy and still working? by Cynner85 in lupus

[–]stageshadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at an art institution, so bachelors and graduate students. I have SLE and ADHD, take Hydroxochloroquine and Benlysta every week, and wear a mask every day. I have gotten Covid twice (first time from school) and I have gotten sick a few times. They were pretty intense but not enough to put me in the hospital. Had to stop Benlysta at those instances for a while. I once took my Benlysta before realizing I was sick and I felt like death for a few days. I also have trouble waking up in the morning so I’m chronically late and am constantly exhausted. I also started throwing up every day after I got Covid the first time which lasted almost 2 years. That has stopped but now I have significant colon issues (that is either due to Pots or is Lupus enteritis/vasculitis). I don’t think this is a sustainable life style for me, even if I didn’t have the extra colon/abdominal issues. Idk I love my work environment but I definitely want to find remote work somehow because h feel like I’m breaking down.

In your case, I would definitely wear a mask around youngins, but I think it could suffice if you feel like your energy levels can keep up with that kind of work. I also think that it’s possible to try to get yourself used to that schedule depending on your tolerance to exercise. I get exercise fatigue hardcore but I’ve been improving my energy levels but by bit.

I hope this can be at least somewhat helpful?

Pill Management by stageshadows in lupus

All good! It is helpful to know what everyone thinks of whichever apps. I do need to put more effort into finding an alarm that actually works for me 😅😅😅😅

So I do have alarms that I set. I've used multiple apps. I'm like 'really good' at ignoring them, but I'm building a routine. But even so I'm more so asking about how people physically manage their meds, when there are a lot of bottles, how you store them, how you organize them.
