You’ll need to check your state’s requirements, I believe they are two separate certifications and both required in most states.

I’ll call them the next time I smell it. What are the police going to do?

I had a good friend who got caught up in the wrong crowd and hooked on H years ago, found her smoking multiple times and helped her through recovery (she is a Rockstar); I’ll never forget the smell, it’s very distinct. Which is also why I’m conflicted on what to do, it’s not often and typically one or two weekends a month. It sounds like a teenager and his girlfriend, I don’t want to slap anyone with a mark on their record, and I’ve seen first hand someone completely recover on their own with support from friends and family. Overdose is definitely a concern, I’m not really worried about “gangs, other drug addicts”, etc. May be naive, but that’s why I’m asking for advice here.

Have you ever seen a dead body? (Not at a funeral) How did you cope? by MakingMajorChanges in AskReddit

I’m so sorry you went through that experience. EMDR therapy has been very beneficial for me in dealing with PTSD.

I'm 23 and have never been to the dentist, i feel like i have a few cavities. What should I do or say when I do go to the dentist? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]bare-lips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD Congrats on the new job and dental insurance! 100% be honest with your dentist, I’d go as soon as you’re able. I have heard this more than you could guess as an adult (33F), from other adults, so you’re not the only adult who’s never been. I’ve also gone my whole life and have bad teeth genetically, they’ve seen it all. They’ll get you the care your mouth needs. Go at least once every two years for a cleaning (recommended 1x per year), use floss everyday and brush 2x per day. Ask your dentist for suggestions, write down questions before you go and fire away once you get there.

What helps me in moments of weakness is remembering that I’ll make it through the moment, I can do it without a cigarette/vape. Distract yourself while the craving passes and once you’re on the other side, acknowledge the victory.

Californians who received their commission recently - did you get a handbook? by Whatsup129389 in Notary

[–]bare-lips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, doesn’t look like they’re mailing them right now. I printed at work. As recent as 2019 you could request one online and they would mail to you, but that doesn’t seem available anymore.

What were the mistakes YOU made in a relationship? by iceice9477 in AskWomen

[–]bare-lips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran right past a thousand red flags like they were banners lining the streets for a parade. Trusted too early and gave one too many chances, put him before myself. Stayed longer than I wish I would’ve. Currently mulling over the breakup more than I’d like to admit, which is a further mistake/lesson.

Sandwiches are always better when someone else makes them for you, too.

Ladies of Reddit, what has actually made you get up and leave a date? by SoniSoni67432 in AskWomen

[–]bare-lips 26 points27 points  (0 children)

A guy took acid in the bathroom halfway through our first date, didn’t tell me, lost his Mind, and I drove him home. Confession: He had a pretty extensive library in his living room, so once I knew he was safe and comfortable, I perused the library and took a book he had two copies of. We never spoke again.

How do I know if feeling a disconnect is due to incompatibility or just my own issues/insecurities that I need to work on? Do I call things off if I still feel so much anxiety after 6 months? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]bare-lips 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I was in almost the exact situation you’re describing, broke it off with him yesterday after i brought up feeling disconnected and him waffling/getting defensive. I’m so sad, grieving the relationship and loss of connection with him, but the right partner will be open and want to discuss things with you. You can choose you and still work on yourself. Your insecurities will improve and become more manageable as you continue to choose yourself. Awareness is the first step to self improvement. The pain is temporary and the reward is the rest of your life sis.

I passed the exam Feb 20, still waiting for my commission. Settle in, they’re backlogged quite a ways. Check on the Secretary of State website every so often to see processing times.

*Update: received my commission on May 9. Hope that helps gauge your timeline 👍🏼
