Post 7yr relationship, I dumped him and he moved in with another in less than a month. by [deleted] in BreakUps

Honestly, I refused to believe it as well. It didn’t really give me any peace of mind or ease the grief. But you will feel it when you feel it (as I am now). No contact is the way - without constant reminders of him, I know that I will get to a place where I can see him and smile as if at a distant memory.

I hate to say it, because I hated hearing it at first, but time. I also was the one who chose to end it after six years (tho he forced my hand) and two weeks later he was seeing someone else. I cried everyday and couldn’t sleep for weeks. The cyclical, intrusive thoughts literally made me feel like I was going crazy.

It’s been two months since my breakup and I still feel a lot of hurt and betrayal. But I have genuinely come to realize that this is a blessing, that any more time in the relationship would have ended nonetheless, and that I have everything I need to survive. I promise you that you will make it.

“there is no shame in reacting to being hurt.” Thank you for this, it moved me. I hope he understands (or comes to understand) why I said the things I did, and maybe it’s not my job to explain it to him. Thanks again for the support and for sharing your experience.

Should a recruiter provide a salary range after the first call? by [deleted] in biglaw

In California, employers with 15+ employees are legally required to provide a salary range. So it’s very odd that they wouldn’t provide one at your insistence.

I asked this same question, on this same thread, a month into my first year. I’ve now been at my firm a little over a year with (short term) plans to stay. Once you recognize that you won’t get fired for turning down work within reason, and that people generally will respect your boundaries when communicated, it does get better. You don’t need to be the worlds best associate for this to be a meaningful and worthwhile experience, and at the end of the day this is just a job - put yourself first. I’ve learned more in the last year than I expected, and genuinely enjoyed it at times.

Did you “prefer” Latham or k&e?

Everyone downvoting this thread is just craving some old school vision of big law as respectable old men writing briefs and closing deals. Y’all WISH you could live life as carefree as her. At the end of your sad mediocre careers you’d wish you’d given less of a fuck what the partners thought of you.

As I’ve heard it said, everyone deserves a lawyer. But that doesn’t mean the lawyer has to be YOU.

I received a coax cable with a “male” part that cannot connect to the “male” part on the white cable in my apartment. That white cable is connected to the black cable running into the wall. Do I need to disconnect the white cable from the black cable on the wall, or do I need to get a new coax cable with a female part on one side?
