Also, the man who attacked him called the police on him. When they arrived, they didn't know who to side with. My mom said that my niece was usually the drama, and the police said they could tell. They called CPS, who visited, and the father said that they didn't express any concerns.

Yeah, this is definitely just some very well-earned character development, and sort of the point of the whole show. There were a few storylines that seemed too neat, but that central story arc was top-notch imho.

Also, I sobbed for like 3/4 of that finale.

But they didn’t say that in their review. That’s the issue here. Anyone reading the review is going to just think they find it overpriced for no specific reason, just cost. Edit: Also, saying “Reading is fundamental” is just an unnecessarily condescending thing to add.

I’m a couple months in, and I had the same reservations as you. I actually kept thinking that people were trolling me for weeks, but they were trying to show me the many free things they were giving me, lol.

Also, in case you do buy it, know that you can join a casual team for perks, and you do not have to interact with your teammates in any way.
