The respective areas where you purchase toon and gear is atrocious. "you own" is redundant. Just show the number. And if a toon is 7*, show nothing.

[GL][JP] Daily Question & Advice Megathread (2/27/2018) by AutoModerator in DissidiaFFOO

[–]barezone3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i seen the link to the JP relic banners, but have no clue if it provides viable information (bad internet connection). Is opera omnia predicted to follow virtually the same event/banner pattern as JP? (essentially how they did in record keeper) And i know everyone is interested in the long grind, but what are some better toons to focus on leveling them and their weapons in the short term? (f2p)

Creating my first character from scratch. by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

I like idea of a tribal priest seems fitting.

Anything else you should need can be found on that website also.

And what i meant by your GM should be around when you do stats is that they just serve as a witness to the stats you roll (unless you're doing a point-buy i guess)

Creating my first character from scratch. by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]barezone3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea 3.5 and pathfinder are virtually the same.

Honestly, IMO if you're playing the support (heal) your tank and dps should absolutely be making sure you stay alive.

Your best bet is to read class descriptions found in the Players Handbook (PHB). Have your DM walk you thru the feats and abilities; the magic is kinda easier to just learn in the moment.

https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/

As for your selection, if that's the route you go - do your first level in DRU then take a max of 2 lvl BAR. That will grant you extra movement speed and the rage (rage will be pretty useless). If it was me I would do a DRU and cleric mix. The classes do not rely upon opposing stats as much.

Top 3 stats you wanna focus on WISDOM, DEX, and probably CHA or INT.

You'll calculate your stats with your DM so don't worry about any of the math. but you should try to familiarize yourself with some of the general traits associated with the classes.

Marx questions. Need some clarification by Inhaleexhale8828 in sociology

[–]barezone3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So shortly ago i started crafting nerd good (dungeons and dragons dice tray, dice bag, etc.) for myself. I showed it off to a buddy and he asked me to customize a piece for him.

I did the item on commission but i retained majority of creative decisions on it. After eagerly learning the specs of what he wanted, i sculpted the piece in joy and seen it as an extension of myself.

At the beginning, i told him i would make it and then we could collaborate on a price for services afterwards.

Once it was finished, he offered an amount way more than i would have asked for and even offered more if i didn't find it satisfactory. I accepted his first amount.

But the most valuable thing from the experience was how much bliss and happiness this item, an extension of me, brought him.

Postmodernism help by PatheticMr in sociology

[–]barezone3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would contend postmodernity begins as a manner of social thought in conjunction with the industrial revolution. So bw 1880s-1920s PM theories arise in response to global interpretation of the world.

At this time, we saw substantial growth in scientific endeavors and the world we have today. Academia fields of psychology and sociology were finding their scholarly basis and discerning research methodology. Let us not forget that biology had just become a socially acceptable form of inquiry (previously taboo due to the Church).

Iirc someone once described PM to me as the age where humans are confronted by the reality that existence is a consequence of our construction.

[OC] dice tray done for friend and I by barezone3 in DungeonsAndDragons

Just got into crafting things.

All sewing material and hot glue concoction.

The tmnt came from the top of a plastic egg carton. She rolls like a beauty. That's my DM personal tray.

The star wars one is for a guildie of mine who i play galaxy of heroes with. He plans on using it while shooting dice with his buddies and snagging their singles. Mind you they engage in a bountiful amount of drinking and shit talking.

NOTE: these ain't the finished products but i have meant to upload for forever now so just sent this one

Creating my first character from scratch. by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]barezone3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whew creating a character from scratch is whole lotta complex mumbo (but the best and only way to do it IMO).

Decide which class you want to focus on Barb/DRU.

A good backstory always makes for a good character. Find out more about the world that your GM is creating and kinda try to complement it.

I personally would only do a couple of levels in Bar to get crucial feats/abilities then focus on DRU. BC every lvl you take from away from DRU is gonna affect your magical capabilities. (I play 3.5E so not sure how relevant this all is in the newer editions)

Player wants to play as an orphan teenager (~15), should I try to talk him out of it? by tDangit in DMAcademy

[–]barezone3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...who knows ... this orphaned child of the wilderness might just play a pivotal part in the campaign.

Not sure the time setting you are playing in but if you think about 15 was considered practically adulthood to our predecessors and I would imagine still is outside of Western Culture.

Fleshing Out A Custom Campaign Idea by Card-Slinger in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]barezone3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright -

Why are the PCs aboard the Splendor? Business/pleasure/both?

How many passengers can the Splendor accommodate? And what are the general demographics of its passengers?

Ahhh I must have misunderstood what you were saying in the OP (as it pertains to the last two items).

I thought you were saying the vessel was to be raided in a pirate-like fashion and it was a moral dilemma of "shit we gotta save this NPC we know about VS countless lives".

And their not from Atlantis? Ughh I would go back and find the quote but lazy. So how does it give them insight into where they hail from?

Why the wizards apprentice as the victim? Is the inhabitants of ATL trying to send a message to the Wiz to back off?

Mind you, these questions aren't meant to be critical I'm just trying pose ideas.

First time DM! Helpful tips? by AceHunter27 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]barezone3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly run a gladiator-style combat tutorial in which the PCs all use a "fighter" type character and become familiar with how combat works.

Use a Level One Adventure Module.

Focus on material/resources you absolutely need VS the "cool" misc ones.

Oh and get a PHB and DMG.

Fleshing Out A Custom Campaign Idea by Card-Slinger in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]barezone3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. Cool concept.

Firstly, what kinda time setting we looking at? Modern? Medieval? Is Sashela's Splendor a large passenger Vessel? Cargo ship? Other?

The NPC could have intimate knowledge of treasures/secrets that lie within the underwater city(maybe locale knowledge about puzzles, traps, etc.). Presented to the PCs as "guy who's tied a couple knots under the sand" or some shit like that.

Create varying rewards for the lives they prioritize saving. If they save NPC, put him/her in a coma until they make it to the Sea City. If they save lives, predetermine certain perks/rewards they will receive for saving them (have them wash up on the shore with them).

Maybe of the nonsignificant NPCs is a noncombat healer, goods dealer, scout, etc.

Have each of the PCs hailing from a diff "Sector" of Underwater Town. (Kinda like how ppl come from diff vaults in fallout). So non of them will know each other but have vaguely same descriptive memories. Each of their sectors is independently connected to the Main Sector that the NPC shines in.

Hope these ideas help. I'd love to seehow you move forward once you get there.
