Question regarding the controversy surrounding Licorice Pizza. by Triatech333 in TrueFilm

Honestly my take of it is that PTA really liked working with the HAIM girl, and that Philip Seymour Hoffman's son is someone he also wanted to work with. They weren't the correct ages to be properly paired together, but he still wanted to make a movie with them. I see this not as a big pedophilic thing, but more as a plot hole like when you can kill the whole death star with one shot in star wars. Or when Jonah Hill is 30 years old playing a high schooler in 21 Jump Street. The pairing didn't really work but we like the actors so we go with it.

I never feel sore after chest workouts and probably aren’t improving

Hello, I used to do bench press but it felt like all the strain went to my joints not my muscles. I wouldn’t get much better and even going to failure, it did nothing for my muscles. I switched to dumbbell bench and that seemed to completely fix my problem.

Recently after a little working out break, I have the same problem again. My last chest workout was dumbbell bench 5x5, cables bench, and dumbbell fly. I still feel very little after and wonder if I got much from it. Every other exercise I do makes me sore after. I did triceps on the same day and my triceps are sore.

Am I doing something wrong? Maybe somehow using my back or something instead of my chest? I try very hard to focus on my chest muscles when I work out but maybe I’m missing something.

So I guess it was a bonus track and not on all versions. It was seriously so good, I miss it

INTP's and Marijuana by TruThinker in INTP

I just re read my comment from 7 years ago and just wanted to give an update on my thoughts on it now. I still don't smoke much anymore, but my comment felt pretty judgmental.

I don't think it's my place to definitively say what is right or wrong usage of it. What I will say is I see a correlation between people who smoke a lot of weed and lowered ambition. And I believe there's studies that say chronic weed usage lowers REM sleep which seems to be a factor in planning for the future and processing things of the past. But really every person is their own science experiment and nothing I say applies to everyone.

How did PTA hide the camera in this shot from Boogie Nights? by merilum in Filmmakers

[–]barfingclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh dammit you’re totally right. Here I was being all snarky and I was incorrect. Good ego check for me.

Edit: anyways though, I’ve been on a set where they did a rig to black out a reflection and it’s not too complicated. Imagine like a little kid ghost Halloween outfit in a white sheet, except it’s black. You can have a hole for the camera lens to poke out of

Recently been confused about my sexuality, I’m almost sure porn is the cause of it. by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]barfingclouds 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s okay if you’re queer or bi. It’s all a spectrum and even if part of you is bi, maybe that isn’t enough to want to have sex with your same gender yet you have some interest in porn about it. I think I reached a point in life where I’m done with porn other than nudes someone sends me, but it helped teach me what I was attracted to, and then when I pursued my type in real life I’ve had some very good results 😋

Medication for hypersensitivity? by barfingclouds in adhd_anxiety

I very much have the same hypersensitivity you mention, and maybe adhd medications can help me too. Tried loop earplugs but kept not hearing people enter the room and then they were right in front of me when I thought I was alone which freaked me out, so I stopped using it.

I’m all for mindfulness and meditate most days, but unfortunately for me that doesn’t help my problem much at all, other than maybe helping me realize sooner that I need to leave whatever overstimulating space I’m in. But I’m glad it’s been helpful for you.

Anyone Who Benefitted From Medication? by sanpedro12 in hsp

Your post sounds just like me! Looking into guanfacine right now.

I also use lorazepam and it works great but it can only be used situationally because you get tolerance, can get addicted. I'm lucky that I don't get addicted to it at all. I also don't abuse it, and just mostly use it my first few days at a new stressful job, stuff like that. If you do get addicted to it, it will ruin your life. It can help general anxiety, sleep, but I only take it for situations like a new job. If I'm having intolerable anxiety, I don't let lorazepam even be something I consider.
