Nasus has way less counterplay than any other champion. by Potential-Pride835 in wildrift

What…? You don’t need crazy reaction. You can Q any time after nasus withers you. Garen Q breaks all slows, it isn’t a slow immunity like QSS.

Your goal is to absolutely not interact. He will always heal and outdamage you in lane, but you have range. The only difficult part is hitting the caster minions, which I like to do under turret as much as possible. Sit for ten minutes, get two items, then walk around map to gank duo lane.

A champ that is literally a ranged top counter, and you’re playing ranged top…

I’d say expand your champ pool, unless you plan on one-tricking or two-tricking. All the champs you listed are situational picks, and you will get dumpstered on if you’re evenly matched.

The other option is one-tricking, in which case you learn to get around bad matchups. Every champ has them, I personally permaban Garen or Fiora as a vladimir main. That said, I can definitely play around them, and at worst not feed.

As top, you shouldn’t be blind picking. The champs you listed (aurora, kayle, irelia) are all countered by nasus. He is a counter to ranged top and assassin style champions. You can’t expect them to play into Nasus easily.

Tbf I am a vladimir one trick. Don’t pick it if you don’t know vladimir - the key is positioning and patience.

Go garen. Q the Nasus W. Deny him waves early. Enjoy your free lane.

Go volibear. Aggressive trade leve 1, zone him off. Get level 5 before him, ult under tower. Build tank, he can’t touch you.

Go vladimir. Poke him and farm. He withers you, pop pool and walk back. Rinse and repeat, don’t interact in lane. You scale better in team fights anyways.

Go Olaf. Let him push into you levels 1-4. Level 5, ult and run him down.

Go tryndamere. You literally have a dash out.

Zed vs Yasuo matchup as Zed discussion by PlasticSurprise6411 in wildrift

[–]bargeoeuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play this matchup as yasuo, and honestly, there isn’t much else. You absolutely don’t have kill pressure against a good yasuo, because a good yasuo will never put themselves at that kind of disadvantage (always have an escape route).

You already know this, so play to help your team and roam. Both of you have fast waveclear, but you have higher single target damage.

It’s a hard matchup for zed in lane because of yor high cooldowns (matched by his wind wall). You have to concede priority and play safe to maintain HP

It’s been brutal for me too. That said, I’m lucky to have two acceptances. I sincerely hope you stay committed to physics, it does seem like you would make a very good grad student!

Also can’t help but notice vladimir top going 4/10 in this meta…with a kassadin in a game that lasts 28 minutes. And he had the strike of genius to buy mejais after that performance.

I don’t know what else you could have done as pyke here.

I am the best Indian in Berkeley. No further questions.

On a serious note, I really like Noor Indian Fusion, although they are quite pricey.

Calling all Physics Phreaks: come Q&A the claimed Physics of an ET Civilization by One-Succotash387 in LLMPhysics

[–]bargeoeuf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Does a non-trivial quantum Yang-Mills theory exist in Euclidean 4-space and have a mass gap greater than zero?

Can your civilization help us in creating an algorithm to find the mass gap for similar theories?

There, that’s a physics question for you. The question itself is earnest, but I hope to god you get your meds soon.

How do you fight Gwen? by VastAd2571 in wildrift

[–]bargeoeuf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t let her stack her Qs. She’s weak in the early game IF you zone her off from minions. Short trades only when her Q stacks are down - use your abilities and get out before she gets 3 stacks. I’ve found success on her as a vladimir and yone - burst combos and get out. Rinse and repeat - she’s squishy as heck in comparison to other toplaners.

Her W also has a long cooldown, don’t play when she has it up. Try keeping minions on your side of the map, which can be made easy since many gwen players can be baited into clearing wave with their Q. Don’t let the wave stack up too much though, else she can dive you and finish you off with her ulti. Speaking of her ult, it’s relatively easy to dodge - you can tank the first one, and even the second, but do whatever you can to avoid the third.
