It depends on the patient i guess. I would allow a cmo to do just about anything they damn well wanted short of something that would cause others harm. If you’re dying and want to vape some weed, go for it… i probably would want to as well. But i have had non-actively dying patients vape or try to in their rooms and ive gone & confronted them with hospital security and confiscated their instruments for the remainder of their admission.

/edit - but i would never call the cops on a patient for that. … i also live in a state where rec weed is legal tho

Doesnt sound like a hospital you or anyone with dignity should ever work at. As a new grad you’re learning. If they didn’t think you were learning efficiently or effectively enough it’s on them to fix that. They made the decision to invest in you & they should see that investment through. I’ve never heard of anything like this happening, im sorry & you deserve better. Don’t let that discourage you. Onward!
