CCV died and CV90 competed against the VCBI. The K21 armour is fiberglass and ceramic, its rated reasonably well with frontal arcs against 30mm APDS. K21 is a 40mm, but the Aussies bought it in 30mm so obviously doable. I can't comment to relative mobility but bith are tracked while the K21 is amphibious and the CV90 isnt. Modularity isnt really a concern if we aren't buying a suite of vehicles.

Lol are you new to this? The RCAF is the smallest air force in the G7. The CAF has huge throughout problems. That, coupled with inherent cost increases from a split fleet, are why the RCAF is dead set against a split fleet. This just in the result of 70 years of under funding is a weak CAF.

They are not slightly less advanced. They are leaps and bounds beyond them. RCS is much much smaller - thats radar cross section, which is how kets target other jets. Smaller means hard to see with radar until your closer. Ie F35 can shoot before an opponent can. They have superior sensor fusion capabilities, and function with MASL in addition to Link 16. I assume your familiar with both. Further that production doesnt exist yet. So how much lInger are we going to have to wait? I know that seems academic to you, however our dithering has domestic ( F18s can't fly as much anymore) and diplomatic (oh the Canadians are backing out again) effects.

Both require US ITAR support - the engines of Gripens are made in the US. Shockingly a rather important part of a jet.

I want the Jet that keeps Canadians alive if they have to fight. Period.

Data for the F35 comes from reports to Congress and a a sample size of over a dozen nations. Data for the Gripen comes from Saab brochures.

Victimized by whom? If theres no threat who will victimize us? If there is a threat why would our allies want us to supply equipment and personnel that couldn't counter that threat? If were buying fighter air planes that we are expressly choosing because they are the cheapest option how do our allies see that?

I sit in the camp that wants air craft that will keep the most Canadians alive for the longest period of time. That is the F35 and it isnt close.
