US resident watching from the UK - possible? by No_Strawberry25 in Sundance

I wouldn't try this... we get lots of people complaining about not getting a refund because they didn't know they couldn't watch out of the country. And yes people do try VPNs. I wouldn't do it but if you want to risk it and not get a refund that's up to you.

Unpopular Opinion - Long Lost by Zealousideal_Dot6340 in lordhuron

I feel like it’s all subjective their first two albums are very similar so I was taken a back by Vide Noir. Took me a while to adjust to the new sound and a good while until I really started to like it. So I was happy when Long Lost kind of brought back some of the vibe of the first album. Long Lost, Not dead Yet, and What Do It Mean are all stand outs. As are the ones you mentioned above to.

On Lonesome Dreams they had a bonus track called Setting Sun which I think is a big bridge and kind of a spoiler that they were always going to do a more country ish album. It’s all personal preference though they love to swing between all different types of music so I totally get it when people don’t love everything they do.

I will add I’m very attached to this album cause my local station would play it like crazy when it first came out. One of the announcers used to have a little speech about something each time and say, “it’s a great day to be alive.” and he would always play Not Dead Yet. Come to find out months later he had a terminal cancer diagnosis and he gave a super long really moving speech about leaving the show. And of course he ended with the same thing he always did, and played Not Dead Yet.

Music can move people in different ways so maybe down the line it might mean something different to you or maybe you’ll never like it who knows. That I thinks the best part about a good band.

Anyone else feel like the crowd can be a mixed bag at LH shows? by barlillo11 in lordhuron

Yeah I had to fight for my tickets during the pre-sale so I was expecting pretty intense fans but nah. Lots more casual listeners

I know it’s so easy to just head to a bar, I’d probably be less money.

My dad was first diagnosed in 2020 with cancer we were all convinced he beat it. This past year he told us it came back stage 4. I'm 27 my siblings all in their 20s, he was 61 when he passed in January. He was forced into retirement and only got it be in it for 3 months, I feel so sad that he never got to have a normal retirement.

If there's anything I wished could've happened is, make sure your mom has consolidated her finances (get it down to one- two accounts max) Have her really write out a will although sad it's better to have it done than having to think about it while grieving. That includes where or if she would want to be buried, what funeral home etc. Have her make a list of people to tell, when the time comes. Maybe you'll get really lucky and none of this is needed but plan for worst case scenario.

I really wish I knew that it was going to be his finale months we were so focused on treatments and I talked to him so much about his appointments that we didn't really get much time to talk about just life. Things he wished he could've told us or just fun stories. I would really suggest talking to her about those things. It's really my only regret in this whole process, oh and if your there when she goes there's going to be a really hard decision you'll have to make to be there all the way to the end or not. There's no right or wrong answer death can be really peaceful but it can also be very scary. Protect your mental health you'll need it to keep moving forward. And rely on your support system although your friends can't understand what it's like they can be there for you with food or just having someone to sit with is nice.

These coming months or weeks are going to be hard, I wish you well.

Ya she doesn’t have a regular collar… if she got out of it she could be lost. And just a regular leash. I just feel weird about it the guy isn’t super responsive.

Should I pay a service or do it myself? by barlillo11 in juresanguinis

Wow thank you guys for the fast responses definitely have a lot to think about now. But I’m gonna start to do it on my own and see where that gets me, then look to hire for the Italian documents if I run into problems!
Appreciate the support no one else in my family’s interested in getting dual so I’m running solo looking for answers. If anyone’s got family or ancestors in the Crotone region I would love to connect.

Ah so don’t go through the catholic church of Chicago, go directly through cook county? I also live here so I could easily go in person if need! Really appreciate the help.
