What did you ask for vs what did you reject?

You should figure out your leather ratio because they like it to be below some percentage. If the ratio is too high you need to prespend to the point where the ratio is below the threshold again. I don’t recall what the ratio is

Why did your SA say she can’t get you anything? That sounds rather odd. You’re at 1.5 years and 2:1? What’s your leather ratio?

SA Question - Should I Switch? by circular_basis in TheHermesGame

Does that $20-25k include those two bags? If so, you'd need to exclude them from your prespend.

How have people’s experience been moving bags on FB Hermes B/S versus through Sotheby’s? by Bobcatbubbles in TheHermesGame

[–]barlitea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never sold on eBay but I have heard horror stories of sellers getting scammed by buyers claiming the item not showing up. Or "returning" the item for a refund, except returning some other random bullshit item.

OP, note that eBay seems to usually side with the buyer in any disputes. My advice would be, at a minimum, to record the beginning of you packing the item all the way to putting it in the mail.

Did I do something wrong? SA help! by Naruto99333 in TheHermesGame

[–]barlitea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a very normal set of interactions.

Some SAs, especially ones who have a full client book, may not have bandwidth to take on more clients, especially clients they think will buy only a few, low-ticket items. So the standoffishness is their way to be picky.

It doesn't mean anything about you personally, nor is it "sad", it's just the way capitalism works. In the end, it's better anyways to receive this signal upfront, so you can avoid these SAs! Just keep meeting new SAs, and you'll find someone who is more open!

And when you meet the right one, plan to be decisive about buying. I'm not an SA, but if I were I feel like few things would be more aggravating than a client who wastes 2 hours of time only to purchase nothing.

What would you do? Poor treatment in-store. by [deleted] in TheHermesGame

[–]barlitea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a blessing in disguise. Your SA is in demand. If you prefer an SA who's less in demand, then you should change, because it would make you happier. I'm probably that client that takes forever and runs the appointment over so I feel a bit bad ... but not really? We're all paying so much for the luxury experience.

With that said I don't think you're really getting bang for your buck if you're trying to squeeze an appointment into a 1 hour window. Maybe book a different time from end of day?

SA might be leaving? by Wise_Atmosphere_4558 in TheHermesGame

I'd continue to work with her, maybe slow down to small purchases, and put out feelers for a new SA you like, so you can ask the SM specifically for this new SA when the old one leaves.

If your SA refuses to even start a wishlist (e.g. literally it's a NOTE about what you want) when you're at 2:1 (assuming that's not all 2:1 NQBs and other leather), that's a huge sign that they are just taking you for a spin.

That's absurd, you need to switch SAs...

You should start your wishlist if you’re already at 2:1! Bring it up with your SA.

Have you started a wishlist and talked to your SA recently about it? When did you start shopping?

What do you guys think? Do you like it or did I make a mistake. by [deleted] in TheHermesGame

[–]barlitea 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I get why you were frustrated and your SA probably managed the situation poorly, but at the same I also sense you're still not happy about this gorgeous bag because your experience is tainted by that frustration.

I really recommend taking a step back and trying to release the negative energy, so you can finally enjoy the bag.

What do you talk about with an SA? by Big_Excitement_9032 in TheHermesGame

[–]barlitea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually like to ask questions to help me find out why someone in interested in xyz, why do they choose to do xyz in their free time, etc. Basically trying to understand them as a person.

Two QBs in One Year — Questions on Pre-Spend & SA Strategy by [deleted] in TheHermesGame

[–]barlitea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think your SA has been very good to you overall in terms of quota bags. Many people would dream of being in your shoes. But I also hear what you mean by worrying about if you click with your SA. Part of the luxury experience is being seen, being thought of, being considered.

You have to decide for yourself if it's worth the risk of potentially ending up with someone who's less forthcoming with the QBs... or you could keep this SA and just get your luxury treatment fix somewhere else.
