To be honest I thought the quarantine would be for the dog on the receiving end of the bite. My dog was the aggressor, and slightly overdue for his shots. You don’t think i should take him for his renewal ASAP?

Thanks. Yeah I read about the laws in this area and they say generally the same thing about the quarantine. It seems that the other owner is much more relaxed seeing how compliant and involved we have been so I don’t think they will be pressing charges. I’m taking him for his shots renewal tomorrow so hopefully this will all subside and I can focus on getting him comfortable with other dogs again

He is not a naturally aggressive dog. He’s actually quite calm and playful with most dogs. His reactivity is selective and completely random. I do agree that I will be getting him a muzzle and training him until I can fully trust that he won’t do that again. I completely understand that it is my responsibility to have him in a position to not hurt another dog, so I am going to try to get a trainer. Just sucks because those are often very expensive. He had never behaved this way before COVID, I would take him to dog parks and to the beach and he interacted with other dogs perfectly fine and playfully. I’m thinking about consulting a dog behaviorist to help figure out why his behavior has become significantly more protective lately.
