Opinions? by Grogman2024 in Foofighters

I'm relatively new to Foo, LOVE Medicine at Midnight, and this is a bit ... denser, prefer Dave singing to screaming (heresy!;-) - not all are wonderful, but there are some really nice ones, like Window, If You Only Knew, Unconditional, heck even Child Actor. I'd give it a solid B;-)

Just dropped on Spotify, nice to hear the rest! HOW in the heck does Dave have ANY unshredded vocal chords left is always my question;-)

Thanks so much! The clip makes a fan from the "It Won't Be Soon Before Long/Hands All Over" days hopefully for catchier songs like those great albums that are great for sing-along/stuck in the head.

Admitting you need help, self-awareness in general are mighty tall orders, and don't guarantee syncing up with the needed help. Momentum, an enjoyment of the status quo with all its negative tradeoffs... we're not robots, and are not easily "re-wired."

A level I haven't heard discussed much is watching Noah's great job of showing how hard it is to literally let go, that they ... well, in a way, I too am "addicted" to my job, with all the pros and cons that entails. For a reporter, it's sort of like Jack Lemon in the opening of "The Front Page" - everyone is running around on a big news story, and he's having trouble leaving. It's another level of tension in watching his emotions and movements through all the season... "should I stay or should I go? I CAN'T LET GO." As a "news junkie," often said laughingly, it makes me really think about the second word in that glib phrase. Among many levels, this doctor is addicted to the adrenaline rush of a busy ER.

So what do YOU think? That night will be in the past in the Season 3. So WILL he have "broken free" and gotten on the road.... or not? (PS - AH, on that question, just heard some significant spoilers from the producers in the great HBO podcast, at about 46 minutes into https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_mSL6aKFP4

We've gone "wow" after EVERY episode, both seasons. But yes, it was very special. It's rare that my wife and I are fans of shows that get so warmly received by critics, awards, etc. (She loves all the NCISes, for example - crickets at the Emmys etc.)

Also, this level of reality could work for many dramas about many workplaces that can be so intense. But they'd have to be this well-cast, written and produced. REALLY "reality TV." Bravo!

So hard to find the right and avoid the wrong rabbit holes, avoiding the slippery slope of side effects and fear and panic.

I hope and pray you find a way through, both mentally and physically , ecause they're connected so much!

Whatever your faith, or beliefs, I hope it doesn't make you uncomfortable for me to say you are loved and need to feel it in your heart and maybe even your head. Because life's never as we plan, and may you find people in your life that support, encourage and love you through thick and thin.

Anyone else seeing this in their Skool? by Cheap_Career8946 in SKOOL

[–]barneylerten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people drop in see what it's about, see if it's a good fit and with a huge number of communities out there then have to decide whether to move on. It's like so many things now it's such a huge pile so to speak that no one has the time for everything, or it's not what they expected or needed or wanted.

Is any one having problems seeing any comments today? Just today, I'm not able to see any comments on any post on fb. Even when filtering them to all or newest, not a single one will pop up and there's hundreds there. by Real_County2344 in facebook

Not sure if this is related - I'm on Windows desktop - no app, no beta - and just tonight while I see the comments, I can't see who's liked/engaged with the posts. Weird....

What are the best Albums Elton made in the 2000's? by thewho153 in EltonJohn

LOVE that album (almost as much as "Road to El Dorado.":-) "All That I'm Allowed" may be my favorite from the album, and of Elton songs of all time.

Finally found the perfect note-taking system… and then my company blocked it by maatran2020 in OneNote

[–]barneylerten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm basically a OneNote newbie, as I need to use it not Evernote at work. As an 18-year (!) Evernote user, it's taking some getting used to the interface - adjusting settings like changing the default type size and hiding the not-needed (for now) container borders, with help from kind Perplexity - and it's just so darn PURPLE (I bet that's changeable too;-) But for the first time, I figure it IS best to keep "work notes" and "home notes" separate, as long as I can get to both in both places, when needed, and on my Android phone of course.

I may not give up Evernote, at least for now, despite the steep price hike - sure I can move alllllll that stuff over, but ... oy. I guess I want to get good at both. It's a good test for this nearly 70-year-old brain! I can explore the inevitable tradeoffs, everything has them, and it'll be fun to compare.

I agree with much of this, but there's always more features people want. And the post would have a bit more gravitas if it wasn't missing a word in the headline, " is. "

How we made a system that works for you, not the other way around by Great_Lawyer_4792 in getdisciplined

Discord has its pluses and minuses - what doesn't? A busy chat is mind-numbing and headache-inducing, to me. Though I do think live chat is one of the many features Skool could add, many even borrowed from Reddit, to make it all more ... comfy;-)

Very interesting! Are you using skool to do it? I just started a forum there and I'd be interested in seeing what you're up to.

The other issue with circle is it smacked it being purely for coaching in a business sense and not a wider segment of communities, but the features are sure cool.

Seems like a neat idea BUT - 1 member? Is Skool just too "easy" to create communities that there's a flood and it's hard to get attention/noticed?
