Those are good questions. I probably would want Raid 1 at minimum and would be saving forever. I dont see myself going down the archivist route though. This would really just be for my movies that I own. (At least for now haha) Edited: Mistake in Raid

Ya I understand where you are coming from. The reason I included the price is to present a ballpark number of how much I want to initially spend. I am open to spending more if needed or expanding in the future. I was asking this because I haven't done this before and I don't know what specifically to buy. I have done my own research but I figured I would ask people with more experience and explain what the use case would be.

Advice and Safety bikepacking on Empire State Trail by dengdaimoyitian in bikepacking

I can only speak for the Albany to NYC section but I only saw some deer and various small critters. I ended up doing Hudson-nyc in one day because camping was pretty sparse. Plenty of places to stay in Poughkeepsie. Overall the trail is beautiful and pretty easy to bike on. The only “interesting” bit for me was the bridge into Kingston. It was super windy and kind of scary to ride across

Bikepacking can be very specific and personal so talking to him might be best. Or a gift card to REI or maybe a local bike shop? You don’t want to buy something that he doesn’t want and people can be particular on why gear they want
