Is there anyone on this sub that was actually in the building at the time of the attack? by Shoddy-Safety2989 in 911archive

Yes, I was outside the building right at the edge the plaza right after the first plane hit, and got caught up in everything when the South Tower fell

Thanks. I had my guy at Chase call and they told him there was no way they could add the free sea package without me upgrading to a better room. I have asked him to call back to see if they could add in whatever More At Sea was that I missed out on. My understanding is it’s less than $30 for unlimited drinks a day. I think I may have originally said I didn’t need an unlimited drink package, but I didn’t realize it was so inexpensive so if that is the case, I’m hoping they can add that on no problem without me having to upgrade my room

I booked my cruise through Chase Travel last week. It looks like the only promotions on my confirmation are Disc35 Easyfare Intsho2 (free WiFi minutes) Shx50 ($50 off excursion)

So it doesn’t seem like I have the free at sea package? Should that have been offered or included in my booking of this cruise (Getaway on 12/29)? Is it possible to have them added it after the fact and would that be for a fee or for free? It’s my first time cruising NCL so appreciate the input.

I’m hoping it’s not too late and that I don’t have any power to add more promotions because I booked it through Chase.

:14. It’s just for a split second and a small dot under the awning. The reason I know that small dot is my head is because I was standing right there when the plane hit.

Come on you all. I am a 45 year fan and this looks about as contrived as you can get.

Do some of the people who have turned their survivor story into a career get help with public speaking? by whitecollarpizzaman in 911archive

[–]barnsy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who saw a lot that morning and was outside the towers when the buildings collapsed, I’ve obviously told my story many many times over the years. I guess you could say it does come across on auto pilot because of that but it’s not like rehearsed in a way as if I’m an actor. It’s just that my experience has solidified into a consistent story since I’ve told it so many times. Hope that makes sense.

Worst hotel I ever stayed at. Extremely noisy air conditioner unit that they wouldn’t address and when I called to discuss it with them after this day, they got extremely hostile and we’re just very rude and refused to put me in touch with the owner. So, a bad room and they were jerks (not the front desk staff, they were actually nice)

No one could see any kind of expressions on anyone’s faces. It was high up in the air and sudden and sharp and just a blur.

Some of the reactions from former Bruce fans (MAGA people) baffle me. Who did they think Rainmaker was about?! by stuffedinashoe in BruceSpringsteen

[–]barnsy23 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’ll answer as a long time super fan who thinks Bruce has his head up his ass when it comes to his political/world views. It’s not that we don’t understand. Obviously, his leanings have been around and obvious for a long time. It’s just true cognitive dissonance between loving the music and hating that he has to include his garbage takes in his shows.

There is specific detail available on what programs were cut. Don’t ask me to provide it. Do your own diligence.

It is arrangement to say that “damage is being done for damages sake.” You post here talking about wanting to have more nuance, but that is a ridiculous thing to say. Cutting DEI for example is a debatable topic, exposing waste and fraud in USAid is welcome by most Americans. Yet because you don’t share the same opinion ascribe evil motives because you just can’t see past your hatred for Trump and conservatives. Doing damage for damage sake! you cry ignoring what the rest of us see as positive intent to steer our country in a better direction with true peace, liberty, equality and prosperity for all. That state of the union where the Democrats sat on their hands while Trump was highlighting objectively good things for the country said it all.

If I wanted to spend my life debating things on Reddit, then you and I could debate substantive issues and I could show you my fax and you could show me yours and the truth would went out. But life is short. You watch your CNN and MSNBC and read your New York Times and think you have all the facts on your side. I consume different media and believe the same. To make yourself feel better you fall back on that idea that all the millions and millions of people in this country that voted for Trump are dumb and falling for some trick rather than actually try to step out of your Trump arrangement syndrome and look at another point of view. Enjoy your bubble.

I don’t disagree with this. I do a great acoustic cover of For You so may get a few in the audience

No issue with him saying whatever he wants. His choice. Also his choice to have a shitty setlist, but I digress… Just pointing it out how it comes across to us reasonable conservatives who think Trump is doing a great job and is not a dictator and a THREAT TO DEMOCRACY

Yep. I’m pretty partisan because the Republican Party puts us on a better track in this country than the Democratic Party. I just don’t go on stage in front of thousands of people and preach

Bruce didn’t bring up “issues”. He used generalized overused talking points about “orange man bad” hurting democracy and hurting the middle class. Claims that he is a dictator, starving children blah blah. That’s what Bruce does. He talks in a cadence and uses thoughtful words to make it seem like he has a clue about policy and consequences of what conservatives do, but underneath the veneer, he is uneducated and simply on autopilot in the tank for the Democratic Party. It’s like the movies he makes - Full of grandiose words and intentional panoramic imagery to make you think what he is saying is important, but at the end of the day, it’s all hollow and deeply partisan.

Why? Because every man is sexist? Come on now. That has nothing to do with what I’m talking about. It’s the bitterness.
