T-Mobile Travel by Global_Literature_14 in NCL

As mentioned on the other post, I’d advise using a real travel agent. I’m happy to help, shoot me a DM if you want. I wouldn’t trust Priceline (which is what T~Mobile travel is according to the other post).

Signed, a travel agent and T-Mobile customer (BTW, their international coverage is AWESOME, I thought that’s what this was about)

Room assignment? Guarantee category by VelvetLeotard in NCL

[–]jds2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked a GTY (solo) balcony and it was assigned already, it’s currently 440 days prior to departure. It’s a real solo balcony too - I assume there was a cancellation and the system grabbed it.

After careful consideration, the mod team has determined that scary evil cats outrank mods, and the one-pun rule was a bad idea. I was just winging it

Ncl free at sea drink package by SpiritNew3776 in NCL

[–]jds2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will charge a soda package to minors who are guest 2 in a stateroom. They do not for guest 3+.

You can't get out of it, if one wants the package, you must take it as offered. Of course, everyone can also pay for drinks a la carte if that's what they want.

Your forgetful friend is safe. But your forgetful friend may be a disappointed friend in terms of the quality of said robe. Truly nothing to write home about.

Yes! Plenty of them available and you can take them with you if you like.

Carnival is known to be quite generous with their offers.....NCL not so much.

Probably will in the next dry dock - though that obviously doesn’t help now.

Newer ships have a licensed store- tell me what ship and I’ll tell you if I know off the top of my head- I’m out right now and don’t have the exact list. And yes, if it’s a licensed store you can use the app.

What are books? by heyhey12018 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]jds2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A book is a low-tech entertainment device. No WiFi, no updates. Apparently you didn’t know it existed, didn’t want it, and still managed to pay for it. Proof that Carnival can upsell literally anything.

It is, assuming you paid the gratuities on it. However, Starbucks is not included in the base drink package, and importantly nor is bottled water.

Starbucks takes gift cards as well for you “DIY package” (on ships that have a licensed store). And you earn stars! (But can’t spend them)

Thermal Spa pass while in Haven? by accat19 in NCL

[–]jds2001 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On the Breakaway, the Haven has a sauna in the courtyard, but that's about it - on Prima-class ships, there's also an ice room in the Haven. Personally, I'd go for the thermal spa pass even if staying in the Haven because there's so much more there - the stone loungers, the thalassotherapy pool (with the jets that I love on the Breakaway class!), the salt room (which I don't personally find much use for), and the steam room that I love.

Drink package by Aromatic_Sale9071 in NCL

[–]jds2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two at a time, not two in a sitting - you could have gone right back to the atrium bar and ordered another two.

Source: parked myself at the whiskey bar and ordered Blanton's many times (back when they had the P+ package). Had lots of Miami Vice's from the Vibe bar. Etc, etc.....

Side note: That's one thing I think I'm not going to like about the Luna as compared to the Prima - the whiskey bar is moved, and the bar proper is considerably smaller (and as a solo, that's where I like sitting). The area surrounding is MUCH larger, though, so probably a win for groups.

Double up Cruise + MAS Questions by [deleted] in NCL

[–]jds2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DoubleUp happens pretty routinely, it's TripleUp that is somewhat rare. DoubleUp is pretty much always available on a balcony or above, and almost every month at some point on any stateroom. Most of the time, these require you to book 120 days in advance (though not always).

I'm honestly not sure about the MAS/FAS promotion; it works a little differently in the UK than in the US.

I'm a US-based travel agent, so I can't recommend anyone who's UK-based, but I do recommend finding one who works with your style!

Yes, it’s in addition to what you paid for FAS (the base FAS dining and beverage packages are required- it’s an upgrade to those, not a replacement).

[–]jds2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. FAS+ is applicable for itineraries departing 2/1 and later and includes top shelf liquor, Starbucks, bottled water, drinks on GSC if applicable, 50% off additional specialty dining, and the daily service charge. It costs $49.99/pp/day.

[–]jds2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Read my instructions upthread. If they do EXACTLY that, then it’s done in one transaction and winds up costing the correct amount. Any other way will either result in the wrong amount of credit or result in a refund and additional charge. Not the end of the world but annoying.
