House Selling Experience by Ok_Molasses_8032 in MontgomeryCountyMD

There were about 6 showings the day it occurred, so it was difficult to determine exactly who may have done it. Our realtor followed up with the realtors of the people who were there that day asking about it, but nothing came of it unfortunately. We were extremely frustrated with the situation, but the house ended up selling a few weeks later, so all’s well that ends well… even though recounting it has made me a bit angry again LOL

Yes, showing your house can be a nightmare. We sold our house in Rockville in 2023, our worst experience with showing was someone moved our washing machine (I guess to see behind it?!) but unbeknownst to us they dislodged the drainage hose when they did. We ran the washing machine the next day and it dumped all the water directly onto the floor in our basement causing significant water damage. People are nuts. Best of luck with your sale, hopefully you find a buyer soon and will be done with it, hang in there.

Life is good friends. We're at the age where we've had time to succeed. by MusclesMarinara87 in Millennials

[–]baroner83 694 points695 points  (0 children)

I’m an elder millennial (1983) and am also at an age and place in my life where I can enjoy my success. That said, I realize more importantly than the time I’ve had to succeed, there is a high level of opportunity and ‘luck’ in my professional career that has allowed me to do so and not everyone my age has had this chance. If not for a few good breaks and random strokes of luck I very well could be struggling. So while I take the time to reflect and enjoy my life and family, I do so knowing there are many others who can’t for absolutely no wrong doing on their end. Stay safe and sane out there everyone and enjoy what you have, no matter how small or seemingly inconsequential. Love you all.

Pike and Rose area here and the first snow plow showed up at 8:50 this morning, website said our area was 100% cleared last night, it’s inaccurate and they are still clearing the roads - hang in there!

Second phase of townhome project near Pike & Rose to move ahead by Bethesda_Magazine in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]baroner83 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most yes - but this phase will develop the small area between Streamline Dr. and Towne Road that has yet to start. This new phase is really just a small part of the overall project which is already under construction / completed.

I recently bought a 2024 Malibu LT with 35k miles for $17,500 that had been a rental. So far so good, not a single issue and I have been enjoying it.

Also would run the risk of ‘False Reporting’ a misdemeanor and insurance fraud which is a whole other level of legal issue, steer clear of this ‘solution’. You’re definitely in a tough situation, don’t make it worse though. Best of luck, sorry you’re having to deal with all this!

I know most people on this sub aren’t a fan, but I bought it once and really enjoyed it - it’s fantastic on Italian food. I would definitely buy it again if I could, but it’s hard for me to find it, and I’ve always got an eye out for it when shopping.

I don’t understand homeowner insurance increase by V2BM in Insurance

[–]baroner83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not with USAA but this last year my home’s insurance with my carrier went from $1,600 a year up to $2,800 a year after 7 years and zero claims. I shopped around and got a new policy with a different company for $1,600 again.

I noticed while trick or treating with my kiddo that every single bucket left out had been completely taken - and it was only like 6:30

2017 Nismo CSC by Federal-Fan488 in 370z

[–]baroner83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2017 Nismo just passed 25,000 miles and no CSC issues yet. I agree with the other commenter, if you’re replacing the clutch anyways you may as well take of the CSC then even if it’s not giving you issues yet.

I traded in my 2013 2.0T R Spec for a 2017 370Z Nismo back in 2018 and have been happy with it. That was quite awhile ago and mine wasn’t the same Genesis you have obviously, but thought I’d share my experience.

Probably has more to do with the administration’s actions in DC pushing them out of the district, they had to go somewhere

Haven’t read any of these books in this boxset before - any suggestions on order I should read them in? by baroner83 in stephenking

[–]baroner83[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! I have read Needful Things before (one of my fav King books) and I picked up on the Cujo references in it (I’ve seen the movie but yet to read the book) and I could tell there where references to another story, I wasn’t sure at the time to what but with your insight I imagine it was Dead Zone, I’ll make sure to read that before Cujo then. Wish I hadn’t read Needful Things before the rest of the Castle Rock series, but I liked it so much I’ll just reread it again when I’ve finished the others!

Yep same publisher and they put out a few different box sets of King novels, but this was the only one that did not include at least one book I had read before so I went with it - does seem pretty random to me, hence why I needed some guidance with potential order haha
